Well Portgal has lost to Spain, that was miserable. But what ronoldo did was not good from him at this stage. As he is a Star player in the world and equivalent to an ambassador of the Country.Winning and Losing are inevitable. When two teams meet One has to Lose.he shouldn't have spited on the cams and shown his resntment as he is the stars of many in this World. What lesson will they have from him. So for me he should act Like a true Sportsman and should accept his defeat peacfully and in a good manner.

ronaldo is a very overestimated player that only plays well against crappy teams, but when it comes a match with a decent team, he always disappears from the field. adding to this, i think he is still having nightmares with puyol and pique. the most funny thing was when he argued with queiroz because he changed him from the side to the middle, and after some time, he returned to the side

I feel I need to correct a couple of points from you here. He does not only play well against the crappy teams. Anyone who says that know's little about Football quite frankly. He did not argue with Queiroz about changing from the side to the middle, he was asking about what the team would be playing now the subs had come on. It was clear that Portugal were getting little joy and he knew they had to change to beat Spain. Puyol and Pique were solid but Ronaldo didn't really have enough opportunity to test them.

about queiroz you may be right, but about the other about crappy teams, well, with the worst FC Barcelona in the semifinals of champions league 3 or 4 years ago, with barça playing a very very bad football, he did nothing (well, being more exact, he missed a penalty xD) in spanish league when the match is with a valencia sevilla or atletico de madrid his performance goes down drasticaly, and this year in CL, with a milan full of old glorys he did nothing, the same thing is aplicable to the 2 matches against Olympique lyon

You are right, i think he should accept to lose, it is normal and nobody wins always. I don't know if everyone will agree with me, but he gave me the impression that he was thinking he is the the best player in the world, like if he was better than everyone else in his team, and i don't thinking that should be the behaviour of a sportsman, specially in a World Cup.

He is the best player in the World and therefore the best player in the team. Portugal would have had a better chance of beating Portugal if they played with a more attacking outlook.

I don't think he is the best player in the world, but surely he is the best player in Portugal, but it doesn't give to him the right to walk in the field, and just play when he has the ball on his foot. A player that i love to see playing is Carlos Teves, he does not have the Hability of Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi, he does not make goal like Drogba or Henry, he maybe is worst than a lot of player, but when he is in field he fight from the first minute till the last minute, that is what i expect from a player in his National Team, unfortunelly C. Ronaldo seems to be in a parade during this World Cup.

Ronaldo is what we - the public - and the media made him. A slightly spoiled kid that came to fame really early. We talk bad, call him names and yet, comes a tournament we are always expecting him to save the day. He's not the whole team. I don't think he played all that well in this world cup, specially the last game, but then again that he was still being man of the match here in canada for each game . I also don't think he should be captain but that comes from scholari a few years back so now it's not the time to take it away from him. I like to see ROnaldo playing when he plays well, but have not bought into the "he's the saviour" bit. The plain truth is that Portugal played a very defensive game against Spain, when it should have been the opposite. The substitutions made were not the best choices. And it lost as it deserved even though it is true that the refereeing was a bit rougher against Portugal - but that's part of the game and it can happen in any game, players should be prepared for that. It's done and now it's time to look forward to the next time. Everyone is focusing in Ronaldo's lack of manners/sportsmanship/whatever we want to call it. Me, I prefer to focus in two excellent players that saved the games more than once this world cup: Eduardo and Fabio Coentrao. I usually like to focus on positive and they were very positive in each game:)

To me he did not do anything wrong, he didn't play the way we know he can but that was mainly due to the system that Portugal played. He just didn't get enough service. In the past he played with the likes of Pauleta and Nuno Gomes who were both fine strikers. He wasn't spitting at the camera.

He knew the camera was on him though which is just as bad. That is why the incident is being investigated. Wayne Rooney (the English equivalent of Ronaldo, after all they are best mates despite Ronaldo getting him sent off a few years ago..that says a lot about the 2 of them) apologised after ranting about the England fans booing the players but it was too late. Shouldn't have done it in the first place, he is supposed to be a professional footballer. He's had years of "growing up" and Ronaldo is the same. Any respect I had for either of them has now gone away completely. I hate Ronaldo's dives too. Wouldn't get half as many of his free kicks and penalties without his diving. He is so talented, why on earth does he resort to those tactics?

Ronaldo to defrauded to the world of the football, will be a good player but he is not a star player, has too much marketing behind his and is haughtily and selfishly that plays only for and is not offered for by the equipment.

Ronaldo is the most overestimated player in the football history! Real Madrid played an enormous sum of money to bring him to Bernabeu, but Ronaldo is the most disrespectful person I have ever seen...

Ronaldo has never been known for his sportsman spirit through out his career. In the last world cup he had got Wayne Rooney sent off and then winked to his players which was caught on the cameras. Similarly he boasts a lot about himself and his talents. So I do not think that I am surprised by his behavior after the last match. Especially because he was completely cut off by the Spanish midfield and cut a sorry forlorn figure up ahead. Cheers! Ram

That´s right, but once the money is often corrupt people and bring them to take other attitudes in a normal state without pressure or fame would not do.

I think that he was probably very disappointed. Portugal played that defensively, it looked like they were playing for penalties from the start, that he rarely had a touch of the ball.

It just goes to show what a poor loser he is. For all his skills and dazzling play, his tendency to dive have tarnish his reputation and now this spitting incident. Lousy poor role model he is proving himself to be.

I can understand Ronoldo's behavior .He received considerable pressure, and he is the only one who can score in Protugal. His teammates did not give enough support for him.And also in the match with Spain he did not gain Fair treatment from the referee.I think if i was in that situation i would behave ruder than Ronoldo.

Portugal was very good World Cup. They crash I thought it would defeat Spain, which did not happen... was a surprise. But there is always a winner and a loser. And infortunately, the losers go home with the thought could have done more and better.
