Saving your pennies for a rainy day?

Does anyone else on here have a piggy bank or some sort of coin holder to fill up? I'm personally using a 10gal water jug to fill. I've gotten it 1/4th of the way full so far since New years! I hope to have it completely full by Christmas. When it's a rainy day outside, I really do count the coins. Do you?

I fill up a mug for my extra coins so that my wallet would not become too heavy. However, when I run out of coins, I get some from that mug too.
What I save are small bills. I have this small plastic envelope and I put it small bills or even hundred peso bills at least once a week. I am pregnant and I call the content of that envelope our "crib fund" I am hoping that my crib fund would be enough to buy a good and sturdy crib by October.
Cheers!

I collect pennies, and i know I'm never going to fill up the huge jug I have in my room, but it's nice to know I have them there. Still, I'll cash it all in eventually, but I don't have a great deal in there right now.

I have a JIF peanut butter jar to fill up. I had it about half full of pennies and a few quarters and dimes. I am constantly taking it out and counting the money in it. Currently, I'm saving my pennies for Dragon-Con 2011. I have to pay my way in and buy pieces for my costumes. It's going to be just that more fun because I've paid for it with my own money.

In my country, they say that saving coins is not wise due to superstitious beliefs but I still do them anyway. I did that to save money for my husbands birthday. Set aside coins from my purse every single day. Very happy when I was able to save enough for a good meal for my family.

I have little green piggy bank that i toss all my change into at the end of the day. I think its a nice way of rewarding yourself in the future. I have family and friends that ive seen just toss away their money without thinking of saving it. I think its silly to throw money away even if it is only a penny. If you keep saving as days go on those seemingly meaningless pennys and dimes will turn into hundreds of dollars. Last time i cashed in all my change i had over $120. So those of you out there that don't bother with change, please start saving so you too can have a fun rainy day :D

We have two pringles cans, but we hardly ever use cash anymore, it's usual a debit card that we use. My husband's parents have one of the big water jug things that are on water coolers. I think that's a pretty good idea, and we might get one one day if we ever start using cash, it's a pretty cool thing.

I save my coins in an old ice cream tub. But, usually, when I'm out of pennies, I get from my stash. So until now, I have not really saved a substantial amount of coins. I'm thinking of buying kiddie piggy banks so I won't be tempted to pull out coins. :)

Hello Everyone
My mom has a huge jug, maybe 10 gallon, full of change, it used to quarters also but over the years we have pretty much taken out all the silver lol, I have been trying to get that jub for years she wont give it up. I love collecting change just to see how much i can get. Think im gonna have to have my daughter talk to grandma about the jug, we can paint it pink and keep it in her room. lol
