Many of you are writers here on myLot. You may be writing articles, poetry, etc. I have just submitted my links for my latest articles to Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon, del.icio.us and Digg. There are so many social bookmarking websites. Which social bookmarking websites have visibly helped you promote your articles? Which is your favourite? And why?

Hi Sydney, If I am writing for my blog, I don't take much initiative to promote it. But when I am writing for Bukisa or Trinod, I have to use all available resources to promote them. I mainly rely on social networking sites like Orkut, Facebook etc. Besides that I promote it through Twitter and Digg. Sometimes I send personal emails to my friends. I still believe that if the subject matter is original, timeless and informative, then there is not much need for an elaborate promotion. Thanks. God bless you

Hi Biswa, I also rely a lot on social networking sites and bookmarking sites. If your article is filled with good keywords maybe there is no need for much promotion, but I seldom write such articles with a set of keywords. As such promoting my articles is very important to get more viewership. I often can see a drastic increase in pageviews when I promote my articles in Triond.

Hi Sydney, Yes, you are right. I also don't keep these things in mind. I think that would seriously harm my compositions. I try to focus more on quality of the content than the search engine optimization.

Hi sasuke, I often use Twitter and facebook as well to publicise my articles. Apart from earning from the original writing sites itself, there are many bookmarking sites which also pay you to add links and earn from pageviews. It's like killing two birds with one stone. Your articles get traffic and you earn money too. Hi honeybuttz, It's a relatively new way of earning money from article writing. I discovered it in 2008. I wrote several articles then, stopped for a year and a half, now resuming my article writing activities. YOu can earn good money from these sites.

Promoting my works is something that I should really learn from now on. When I write I only rely mainly on my keywords, hoping that seo writing will bring traffic to my articles. I wish I have the luxury of time to promote them. Time actually is my main challenge right now. I only do this part-time. So, I don't really pressure myself in terms of meeting my desired earnings in any given month.

I promote my articles once I have written 30-40 articles. I do that all at one go, it's time-saving, compared to promoting each individual article separately. Sometimes I'd do it when I'm in low-energy mode, doing some brainless activity such as promoting my articles would be perfect. It's good that you are using keywords to write your articles. I'm not using any such strategies, just depending on wild traffic. But I should move into SEO writing soon.

My publish my articles at htp://www.triond.com. It is an excellent site for freelance writers, though it pays very little. Another site I have joined is http://www.odesk.com/ though I have not started yet. I will soon be posting my article there. This site pays well.

Hi puccagirl, I'm also using Stumbleupon. I think that is where most of my traffic come from. I also use Digg, but not Reddit. I think I shall try Reddit soon.

Currently I promote my articles on facebook whenever I update it. I also go to bookmarking sites such as Bizsugar, diigo,care2.com and stumble upon. I could say all of the above mentioned sites are very helpful. We can benefit from each website where we promote our articles.

If you find writing in English difficult because you are not proficient in the language, there are writing sites that ask for articles in other languages. So good luck!

Currently I only use Twitter and Facebook, which have worked fairly well, but I'd still appreciate a few suggestions. I'm fairly inexperienced in all this stuff. After all, I'm only a teenager. Nonetheless, I can write fairly well, and it's something I love to do, so I love that I have the option to get paid for it!

Hi silverferret, It does not matter if you are only a teenager. some teenagers are more well-versed in these areas than many adults. Anyway, which writing site do you write for? I normally use twitter and facebook as well. But to me, it is not sufficient to get a great number of readers. Thus I use digg, stumbleupon, technorati, etc to get more traffic. Try them.
