Yesterday, It took me more than half an hour to buy tickets for the Eclipse movie. My companion and I watched the movie around 1:30PM. And man, I was really dissappointed. The story was so fast paced. In the beginning of the story, everything seems to be in a hurry. The chronological order of the scenes in the book and in the movie was also jumbled up. Any Twilight book reader will get irritated with the movie adaptation of the book. In the battle with Victoria, Edward did not had a scratch fighting, but in the movie adaptation, he was almost beheaded by Riley and Victoria. And Bella even scratched herself with that damn rack. It was too lousy for me. Though I really enjoyed Jacob Black's topless scenes that were very much "visually appealing", the movie was a big dissappointement.
How about you guys? Have you already watched the movie? What are your thoughts about it? Did you enjoy it or was dissappointed with how the movie turned out?

I had not and have no intention of seeing the movie. I didn't read the books though was offered to. Sorry I know you are probably wondering why I am responding. I wanted to say that sometimes a movie's adaption of a book is completely different, and can even ruin the storyline. I've watched movies that were based off books but usally it's unintentional, or I don't read the book.

I won't disagree with you. Movie adaptations of books really ruins the story line of the book. And avid book readers really do get disappointed when that happens. And it really happens a lot.

Movie adaptations of books can be disappointing. But I find Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings being in the top ranks here. None others even come close.

Hi, I have read the book as well, but the movie did not disappoint me. Yes, I noticed fast-pacing but the important scenes were given justice. Maybe there were some acts that did not meet the book but I believe that the movie gave a good shot to the viewers. They omitted scenes don't need much emphasis. Just like the scene with Bree Tanner. If I am not mistaken, Bree, in the book, was carried to the Cullen's place and they were convincing her to join their clan, when Jane, Felix and the others came. But in the movie, Felix killed Bree just after they're fight scene with the new-borns. I think they had a hard time meeting the movie time duration because the story in the book is too long. Anyway, I'm glad we both love the saga! I wish Stephenie releases the 5th book, "Midnight Sun" soon. I really can't wait!

Sorry but I have to disagree with you. Some of the most important sccenes were not given justice. Victoria did not just die like that. The Volturi was never in the scene when the new borns where still in Seatlle. Riley had more doubts about Victoria's honesty to him compared to what the movie shown. If you would re-read the books, Esme did not had anything to say to the Volturi, it was Alice. Bella did not scratch herself with a stone in the book. ugh...Even Bella's last moment with Jacob,as well as their kiss was much more intense that what they shown in the movie. I just don't like it when they re-arrange stories like that.

I haven't saw Eclipse yet, but am looking forward to it. I tend to watch these movies first before going back and reading the books, it makes it a little less disappointing. I agree with you about movie adaptions being far different from the books.

I've not really watched the movie but I am so encouraged with the press releases. But your review of the film discourages me. I am now having a second thought whether I would still watch the movie or not. I hate wasting time so I make sure watching any movie will worth my while.

I thought that there were many good things about the movie, but also some disappointing aspects. Eclipse was much better than the previous movies, Twilight and New Moon. Well, to tell you the truth, Twilight and New Moon were AWFUL, so I think anything would be better than them. But the graphics and the plot were much better.
But I agree with you: I do believe that the story and the movie were really different. I really liked the books, but I think the movie just ruined the storyline. What they did was take the general idea of the books, and turned them into movies. They didn't do much to follow the more detailed events of the story. That was what I really hated about the movies.
One thing that I really love about watching the Twilight movies in theaters is watching the movie with all of those people. Everytime I go to see the Twilight movies, everyone's talking together, and there are a lot of people who make hilarious comments. It's one of the main reasons why I go to watch.

I enjoyed the movie, but was disappointed with the Victoria, Riley, Seth, Edward fighting scene and the way the vampires were killed. In this movie, it made it seem like you could just smash their head and that's it their killed, when we've been told numerous times that the pieces can come back together unless they are burned. Why wasn't Victoria moving when she was beheaded? It doesn't make any sense to me, but hey I loved the movie nonetheless. I had purchased the tickets online through Fandango, but finding seats was a mission. You really had to get there like 2 hours before the movie started because the line was hugeeeeeee just to get in.

Tha particular scene was the most disappointing scene in the movie. Imagine, Edward was almost beheaded by Riley and Victoria. In the book. Edward did not even had a scratch. And the way Jacob knew that Bella and Edward was engage is also disappointing. I was really looking forward to the agonized wolf cry Jacob had in the book. I still love Twilight, the whole book series and everything about it. I was just not satisfied on how the movie turned out.

I have watched the Eclipse. In fact, I watched Twilight and New Moon as well. Eclipse is getting a little predictable. I have not read any of the books, mind you. I think this movie gave more emphasis on Jacob and Bella, which I kinda like. The relationship between Edward and Bella has been rather stable and boring.
I was actually waiting for the kissing scene between Jacob and Bella. Kirsten Stewart mentioned that it was one of the difficult scenes she had to do.
In the end, the love triangle continues...

I loved the movie. I thought it was very loyal to the book (As loyal as it could be without passing the three hour mark), and even the stuff they added and changed helped enhance the story. Like the stuff that happens with the newborns and the Volturi. You never got to see that stuff in the book because the story was from Bella's perspective. As for the other changes, they just helped it to work better as a movie.
So I loved it. It was a great movie! The best of the movie series so far. I can't wait to see Breaking Dawn!

I've watched the movie last night and it was ok for me. I did not bother reading the book as I will tend to compare the two. Such comparison would lead to disappointment either in the book or in the movie. I have always enjoyed movies love story movies and this is one of those.
