I don't know why but sometimes I find it especially annoying when I can hear people eating, not just the people who eat loudly, but even when it's dead quiet and all you hear is gently chewing sounds...and I just get all agitated - am I just weird?

I understand where you're coming from, I was actually brought up in a poor environment and don't exactly have perfect upbringing, but I do eat quietly...some people can't help eating the way they do as they simply just ate the way everyone else around them did and didn't know that eating loudly was disrepectful...but you do still get people who had a priviledged upbringing, gone to private schools etc, and eat in a funny way... :)

I'm feeling really tired today, so maybe it's that. I was just on the phone right now and someone beside me was eating somebread, and being on hold on the phone, all I could hear was a chewing and I just felt really agitated...

No your not weird, actually I find myself moaning at people for eating to loud in my house. I don't know why they have to do it, whether it is some kind of habit or whether they just don't know they are doing it who knows! I know that I don't, but it winds me up so bad, that I end up saying something like "Don't smack your chops when you eating!" and stuff like that. It can put me right off my food.
Anyway.. your not alone with this!
