Life is the greatest gift from god to human being, but do you know what is the purpose of human race?It is nice to say that we are here to enjoy life and work together but it does not seem logical.People believe in god, believe human were created for a specific reason. but truth is We do not know the purpose of our living, Maybe we will in the future, or maybe we will lead ourselves to self destruction.

In the hierarchy of species the humans are the leading member of the race. Humans are different to other members of the species because of their upright posture, their superior mental development and the power of articulate speech.
Another thing that makes us humans different to other creatures is that only humans have a soul. Other creature do not have a soul but they have anima. Their instincts (anima) guide their actions because their inner self is ever in touch with their unconscious. Since our inner self is not in touch with our conscious the conscious motives (the soul) guide our actions. The soul gives us the capacity to think and reason.
The soul in us is God's essence. It is the breath of life God had breathed in Adam's nostrils. However, the soul in us is not as pure as spirit. It is still impure because it is conjoined to the earth (our body).
God has raised our status because He himself has to come to abide amongst us to give us a new nature. He therefore, comes as Christ. Our soul is purified only after our soul as consecrated elements conjoins to body of Christ, finally to change into Holy Spirit.
We will not lead ourselves into destruction as you have envisaged. Our purpose is to attain the highest level of perfection and thereafter merge with God.

Everyone has a different thinking of life in his own style and one does not match the other - resulting in arguments.
Every religion has its own way of explaining of life.
The best thing is follow your religion or go through some books of spirituality and learn. No explanation will satisfy you. You have to get yourself satisfied. This is best.
In my view the life's purpose is to attain immortality.....

Let me paraphrase the Discovery Channel's answer to this.." ..the Whale Giants of the see maintains the balance of the web of life in the oceans.. the tiny bees and ants provide food and pollinate the trees and the flower.... this lead us to the question, what is our purpose in this planet? .. maybe its the fact that we are the only creature in this world capable of protecting all these creatures in the world including ourselves"... to date, no natural disaster has surpassed man's destruction to the natural world... we have to do something to protect our only home...our planet
