Most times we come across peers and ourselfs who have got great passes in school but fail to progress both financialy and socialy in todays society. So it leaves us with the question was it worth going to school to get a education.

It is definitely worth going to school to get a good education. NOw succeeding in life and doing well socially and finacially is an outcome of working harder and smarter , of channelising the lessons learnt and the skills acquired , in the right best manner possible. Unless one acquires skills nothing can be achieved in this world. Knowledge is power--this knowledge comes easier in school because unless one is truly motivated one does not go through the whole process of self-learning. EVen if one is not intersted in academics, acquisition of some skill is a must.A basic education is definitely needed and the better education you get the better becomes your perspective,.

I agree. Sometimes, despite hard work people do not succeed and do as well as they ought to.This working hard must a slo be a working 'smart' terrencehenry. THat is done by some and they succeed. First of all we neeed GOd's grace to succeed. Secondly wihtout effort nothing can be achieved and this is what we were talking about.THis hard work must be properly channelised and given in the right direction.

I think that having a good education is definitely worth while. I'm currently finishing my Bachelor's degree and I definitely do not regret getting this far. I think that it will help me get the sort of jobs that I want to have. I think that I'll be in the sort of living situation that I hope to be in. In the long run, it's really 100% worth it, in my opinion. I certainly don't have any regrets.

Hi Terrence, our education is a preparation for our job/work opportunities, landing a job requires us with the expected knowledge w/c is our course in school, i guess you are right when you say is it financially worthed, while the best school charges sky high tuition fees then we are left with no choice but to enroll at the some colleges where there isn't much expenses to be incurred, If was a manager i will hire someone with the appropriate degree to run my department than with somebody who claims to be very responsible and pro active, i hope you get my message, even if you do have a large firm to inherit a college education will be useful in running this firm/company. The school is the institution that give us the credit of how we perform in our search for knowledge, These are the grades, and the diploma if you had finished the course. Although we can not attribute that a good education will yield a good life, but we can rephrase this statement: With a good Education, we have a better chance for a more satisfying career and a more quality way of life. Whatever we learn from school we should apply it, use it in our struggle for life, we should not envy when others are a top the ladder but rather we should be more inspired, knowing it was possible to be a step farther pave my thoughts for more struggles and that for me is the never ending story of my life.

In my opinion, a good education is not going to guarantee a great job but it will aid you in getting promotions. I've known so many people who could not progress up in their work because they lacked a degree or whatever so they decided to go back to school.
