Well Garfield is a very good actor but I don't think he's right for the next Spider-Man movie. The plan from Sony studios is to reboot the franchise with Peter Parker as a highschool student which is all well and good. But Garfield is either 26 or 27 and although he looks younger than his age I just can't see him as a believable teenage Peter Parker, especially if they plan to make sequels because by the time the next Spider-Man comes out in 2012 Garfield will be nearing in on being 30.

Hi, akopoaysi
I just saw the news tonight. Yes, I saw the new Peter Parker. I did not know they are not letting Toby Maguire play Peter Parker anymore, I think he was perfect for the role. But anyway, I guess they have their reasons. I just hope the next Spiderman movie would be as nicely done as the previous.
Have a nice day!

I'm not sure that Andrew Garfield is the right choice to play Peter Parker but I'm sure that Tobey Maguire wasn't.

This is so ridiculous. The movies aren't even that old and they're already trying to "start over" with a new franchise and re-do the story? I feel like these movies are just a disaster waiting to happen. It's like when they tried to re-do that Hulk movie, and it bombed like the first one. A lot of people really liked the Spiderman movies, so I don't think many will feel comfortable with a new Peter Parker so soon after the other movies. But I dunno, by 2012 it will have been 5 years since the last one. But it'll feel weird to me and I wasn't even that big of a fan of the movies. I just liked them because Sam Raimi was directing it. Does anyone know if they're getting a new director? Probably. I guess movie studios are desperate for making money. They must know that this is a big risk? It's not like every revamp of a franchise will be like the new Batman movies. Batman is a lot different than Spiderman.
