Facebook.com - is it a better homepage?

Good day to you. I find it so slow to open my initial homepage. I have to wait for at least half an hour to open it. There are times, my laptop gets hang because of the slow opening of the browser. I just want to figure it out - if facebook.com can be a better homepage. Did you try facebook.com to be your homepage?
