Uruguay gets through the semis.. Great save by the goal keeper and too many missed shots by Ghana.
It would have been Ghana if Gyan just didn't miss the last minute penalty shot. It would have been so great to see African nation in the semis and the first for them.

I think that this was one of the most entertaining games at the World Cup. A lot of drama and twists in the game. I was a Uruguay fan and I was so happy where in the end they were the winners.

I like Ghana to win that match just because they're the only African nation left and I think they should have won that game is not for that handball right at the end of the regulation. But that's history already and I routed for Uruguay then since I'm originally a South American fan and the only remaining nation from that part of the world.

You missed the great save by Suarez!! That was the game changer else Ghana was into the semis. Then Gyan missed the penalty and Uruguay sneaked through the penalties. I think it was travesty of justice, but hey nobody said Life is fair, so I guess Uruguay will celebrate. While poor Ghana would be distraught to go out this way!!
Cheers!

Even so, but they were given a penalty kick which Gyan wasn't able to find the back of the net. Ghana are not mature yet in this nerve breaking stage of this event. And you are all right with your last few words in there. I can't disagree more about it.

Hi Sirrob it would have been Ghana if the player hadn't of handballed the ball out of the goal face too, Ghaa played the better football but lost it on the penalties including the one that would have made the match. I really wanted to Ghana to go through. Huggles Ellie :D

Indeed, Ghana should be there in the semis but their immaturity when it comes to this level is still evident such as Gyan displayed when he missed the penalty kick right at the end of regulation. This team has a good future ahead of them, they just need to get matured.

I was routing for Uruguay long before the game started just because they came from South America which I admired their brilliance in this game. But when the 2nd half started, I'm with Ghana already. Actually, the handball eventually helps Ghana to have the chance of taking it but they blunder the penalty kick.

Really tough luck for them. I don't think anyone should blame Gyan for the penalty miss. The pressure is enormous. Imagine, last kick of the game, for a spot in the semi-finals, many will have crumble under such scenarios. While they could not keep the African flag flying, at least they gave a good account of themselves. If they keep improving, they could be a force to be reckon with.

It just shows how immature Ghana still when it comes to the big games but given the fact the way they give the Uruguay a show and a nerve when they score first, it will be a long way for Ghana to move forward in the next World Cup. Really a force to reckon with in the future.
