Strange neighbours?

There are a couple of guys who live a few doors away from us. They have always been eccentric, and I know that they are convinced that they are being visited by UFOs- something that I am a little sceptical about. My partner was surprised when recently passing their house, to find one of them placing CDs, shiny side up, on the ground in their garden. When she asked what they were, the guy proceeded to explain that they were landing zones. A little odd?

lol, I would love to meet them, although I'm not sure whether it's true that CDs shiny side up can be regarded as 'landing zones'...are they for the 'visitors' they are coming for them...? I know in Hong Kong, a few people place a few CDs shiny side up against the windows to deter pigeons away from their window so that they don't poo on the window... ;)

They are odd, but pleasant enough. I know of people who place old CDs in their trees to scare birds away from stealing their fruit. I wonder whether it would be cheaper to have a cat?

Life is, so often, stranger than fiction! Perhaps if I use some on my windows it will deter my nosey neighbours!

I wouldn't mind, as long as they don't make noice, unlike my current neighbours...

They do have a take on loud party music, but luckily I am not close enough for that to matter. By contrast my own neighbours hit the wall with a walking stick when they believe that our TV is too loud.

Hi, I have just caught up with your reply. Must be one for which the notification did not work. I have a couple of odd tales, so I will have a look at that site today. Thanks.

I must admit that - if I found my neighbours behaving like that - I'd be a little freaked out. Still, I'm sure that they're quite harmless. And you never know what might end up landing in their backyard!

I am sure that they are harmless, since they are always pleasant. Unfortunately a lot of the kids who pass on their way to school tend to take the rip- and the younger of the two gets quite upset! I will keep the battery in the camera charged up though....
