MyLot should have Spelling checker like word, what do you say?

Hello my name is Sarah and I can't spell well! When I was in school I carried a mini dictionary with me at all times. I would welcome spell check here at My Lot. I may never learn how to spell but at least I can see when I do get a word wrong. You should write My Lot and ask for a spell check. I will if you will.

well it would be really nice if mylot has a spelling check but personally i dont need it anymore because my browser has one built in.

Dude, MyLot does have spell check.. It underlines all the words that isn't it its dictionary with a red squiggly line.. ~.~

hi ajay,,,,,,i also think there should be spelling checker in mylot......because i am not confident about my spellings.....but the thing is i have activated my browser as spelling checker....whenever there is a spelling mistake my browser underlines the word with red ink and i just correct that word....this is so useful for me due to this nowadays i am having very less spelling mistakes....so just activate spelling checker from your browser and everything will be all right

Check your browser if it does a spell check. I'm using a Firefox browser, and it already has this feature.

I agree that Mylot should have a spell checker option. I use Firefox and I do not see where there is a spell checker for when I type responses on Mylot I would have to type on my word program and then copy and paste and that is time consuming.

I have spell check here. I think I put it on my preferences on my computer. If I type a word wrong, it gets underlined until I correct it. I have it everywhere and not just here so that is why I'm thinking it is something I checked when setting up my computer. I even have it in my e-mail. Check out your computer settings.

Yep I agree. I am nearsighted adn normally a good speller and typist but now and again I find that my finger slips and I have atypo and most of the time I never see it until the comment is posted even though I read over sometimes - not all the times though to be honest.

Are you doing mylot in IE. Then you will have to check personally every time for any spelling mistakes. Try, mozilla's firefox and you will have the spell check automatically. You can easily correct them before hitting the submit button.

Great, I think I need spell checker in MyLot, its sure that will help me to save more time and learn some spellings as well, now I am using Mozilla Firefox. I will look forward to improve.

yeah mylot had an application to correct the wrong spelling and i love so much. this is the one of advantage of mylot. this is very helpful and useful to all of myloters.

Yeah~I agree with you.There are many people who are not native English speakers in myLot.And the wrong word may influence in some conditions. So I look forward to the feature,myLot?

Use a browser like firefox or chrome and you'll have an built-in spell checker :)

Having a spel checker would be an over-kill, and mike has pointed out the reason. Another software that can be used with most text is TinySpell. I have used it and found it to be good. Maybe you should give it a try. TinySpell has many options including checking the spelling on the fly,and the option to add new words to the dictionary.

I don't know if it's my browser or the computer I used. If I use my desktop computer to post on myLot, there's an automatic spell checker which would underline any misspelling but if I use my laptop to post on myLot, the spell checker doesn't work even though I use the same browser which is Firefox. I'm not tech savvy so I don't know why that is.

I totally agree with a mylot spellchecker. it would save on self embarrassment when you post your response and then you see your typo. All you can do is scream inside and hope too many people don't notice. My lot could be saving a lot of stress with a spellchecker.

I heard about this....how come you be so patient to write your post in your word document and then cross check it for typos and then copy and paste in here...ohh that is really tedious.I just type in spontaneously and some typos do creep in but they're fine than to use MS word to correct them.Spell checker would be so good if they can provide us with.great day.
