Why/why not you feel animals should be used for research?

Animals being used for research is something that will no doubt be something that is up for a great deal of debated. There is a lot of research out there that is mostly harmless. Of course, humans know what they are signing up for if they should volunteer for research while animals really have no choice. Plus, there is a slippery slope, of exactly how far can you go. I think the huge problem with anything is knowing where to draw the line. I think that we might not be able to draw the line and I think that is why I am a bit against animals being used. Of course, the fact that some animals are strikingly intelligent, even if they are unable to communicate like humans, that can be a bit of an eerie thing to think about.

Boy, I have mixed feelings. We do need to test before human consumption. We will all kill rodents. Why not use them for testing, it may be a medication or such that will make your life a little better for a little longer.
