Why is Yossi Benayoun signed ????????

I think he is a great addition to the team. 11 stars don't make a team but 11 players do. If they don't fit well into the team then they are useless and Yossi is a great guy to have come off the bench. Like was said already Cole left and there is a gap.

I think Benayoun is a direct replacement for Joe Cole. I think Cole's wages were too high for comfort of the Chelsea board, so they let him go. Benayoun was available as a ready replacement at much lesser wages which is the reason why he has come in. Also I think there is going to be a major clear out in the Chelsea midfield with Deco, Ballack and Joe Cole all going out. Cheers! Ram
