Done deal??! The Los Angeles Lakers made an arrangement of acquiring Steve Blake for a four year deal amounting $16 M in 4 year-time. The deal succeeded after the Lakers did not re-sign Jordan Farmar on the team. He will have to back-up Derek Fisher on the point guard slot with the latter will surely sign for the defending champs.

let's face it, fish has lost a step or two. he cannot consistently play a full season for the lakers and aside from his play-off heroics, he really cannot offer much. the lakers can still count on him to be their leader on the floor and in the locker room but performance-wise, the lakers are wanting in the pointguard position. this has been a major problem for them for a number of seasons already and really surprised that the lakers have managed to win back to back titles with fish at the point. steve blake is a good point guard but i doubt if he fits the bill. the lakers need a thinking pointguard who can set up the triangle offense well and shoot consistently from the outside. i doubt if there is anyone available but if the lakers were able to get a pau gasol for virtually nothing, maybe they can land a steve nash or a chris paul by trading their ball boy, their water boy, and sasha vujacic. lol! cheers!!!

Fisher is not at its best in a regular season but comes playoff time, Fisher is dependable. He is an intense and impressive player in the playoffs, as what he had shown in the recent NBA Finals and in the playoffs as well. He is a clutch player and a good leader. With the return of Fisher in the Laker lineup, they could defend well the championship.
