The stupid discussion that now clutters my thoughts

A friend started a discussion asking how we do our toiler paper after going potty. I didn’t think it deserved my “esteemed” response. However, afterwards I found myself analyzing, evaluating and examining how I fold my toilet paper, and how much I use. It’s such an obsessive thought it’s become annoying! I probably should’ve responded and get over it.
Do you have thoughts that occur when you’re doing the same thing? How did that thought get there, did it start from some discussion in myLot or some other situation? How can one break away from that thought pattern? I think the obsession has to leave on its own because the harder I fight not thinking about it, the more likely I am to think it.
When I’m driving a certain route I think about the same thing each time I go there. It really gets old and somewhat annoying…sort of like a hamster on one of those round exercise wheels…round and round, yet going nowhere.

Come on then Joyce answer the question then it will be out of your headforever more lol, now you have gotusall thinking about it! Yes I guess we all have theserandoms thoughts that go through our heads from time to time a bit like when your hear a certain record before you switch the raqdio off and it remainsthere in your head and even if it is a song you don't like you find yourself humming it. .....laughing again picturing Joyce going around and around on her hamster wheeel. i guess when the topic hasn't been heard before or mostly talked and all of the sudden it's been talked in this forum or social site, that's when it gets stuck into your head. sometimes there are songs that i don't want to hear because the ones i hate get stuck in my head

hi joyceshookery the first time I started here there was one discussion
that was only about which hand do you use to wipe yourself in the bathroom? I thought that really was not much of a discussion but thie
on got 70 responses so who knows? I was going to bypass it then got the
idea to respond with a tongue in cheek answer. I responded, I use toilet tissue rather than either hand as that would be most unsanitary.oh yes some obsessions just stay there until something else makes you think of other things then its gone.an obession will run its course if you turn to other things to think about.

ditto as far as the hand goes. He/she probably assumed everybody'd know it was hand with tp...but never assume anything is what I've tried to avoid for years. You can just call me Joyce, Hatley. No need for the formality of hookery :-)

hi joyce oh that came from remembering my husband weird wonderful sense of humor. He looked at me very soberly and asked, which hand do you usually wipe with, and I piped up, my right hand of course. So he came back, that's odd I always use toilet paper. I stared at him, and he laughed,
Gotcha he he he.

joyce, some topics, no matter how trifling, could really get into us. I also dwell upon a story, an issue, or a person from mylot when I go out and drive. I am an admirer of responder number 2. Her stories just fill the senses.
Mylot had given us the chance to do some introspection. And then we get to know ourselves a little better. That is why I take time to read also those questions I deem "stupid". To borrow a line from DESIDERATA, even the dull and the ignorant, they, too, have their story.

That's true...even the dull and ignorant have a story. The challenge is learning to pick up on it. I'm also a fan of Hatley's.

Hello Joyce,
if there are somethings that annoys us, it's just hard to let it out of our minds.there is actually a lot worse than that discussion, but you know at least it's nice that some one had to put it up, i mean no one makes those discussions any more since they believed to be gross.but i guess, some had to be open minded to these topics. you know i don't even look at my poop anymore after i dodoo.
