When your stressing, what makes you relax?

In college days, we have exams almost everyday specially before our board. Those days are really stressful for us. I noticed most of us, likes clicking our pens. It's weird but you can hear non stop clicking in between discussions. Lol. Also, most of us chew bubble gum. For some reasons when your chewing something it releases your stress. Some likes to tap their pens on the table and others just walk back and fourth. lol. When your stressing, what makes you relax?

Listening to trains in the distance make me feel relaxed but when I am close to a moving train I get a major adrenaline rush then usually relax afterwards.. and have a nice good sleep.. listening to music, singing and dancing, teasin' people making really lame and corny jokes.. or walking around and pacing... but also petting kitties and dogs I love to pet animals I am more relaxed with a cuddle cat or kitten wrapping themselves around my neck or arm than from much else.

Depending on where I am and what I am doing, I use different methods to relax. My number one stress reliever is to listen to music. Music is a big part of my life and I love it, so listening to a bit of music, depending where I am, will always help me. I also like to drink water and chew gum, especially when I'm in a testing situation where I have to sit at a desk for a long period of time.
Another thing that I find helps me a lot is to just get up and walk around outside for a while. I find that the fresh air really helps me clear my head and calm myself.

A walk outside with a breeze of fresh air would be good. It's sad we can't do that here in the city. I can't wait for us to move. Thanks for sharing.

Overall when I am stressed out, there is really only one thing that will help me to relax. That is to take a hot bubble bath. That really is a great way for me to destress. When that isn't an option, then I will call and talk to my mother because talking to her always makes it possible for me to chill out. I know I was very stressed out financially this time last year and during that time she was able to calm me down about all of my worries.

Most of my stress is dealt with by meditation. Of course, when I am not meditating, and I feel stressed, I will just focus my mind on the moment of now and become more aware that this is all we have. That tends to eliminate stress pretty quickly, because stress is usually about something that is either going to happen, or has happened. Calmness is about what is happening here and now. But staying in the here and now is not possible all of the time. _Derek

when i am at home and am stressed out, i usually go have a warm bath where i can lie down, close my eyes and smell the nice eucalyptus i'll mix with the warm water. This has a very relaxing effect on me. When i am outside under stress, i'd close my eyes and take deep breaths. This helps me alot too..to stay calm.

When I was still a student, I'd save some amount from my daily allowance and use it to watch movie on Saturdays. That helped me relieve some tension. Other activities I'd do and is still doing to date is listen to music, dance, and play the guitar or piano, compose songs, and of course, internet. On some weekends, my friends would come and we do pot lucks after which we'd practice ballroom dancing though we've never made it to the real dance floor. lol!, sometimes we'd go swimming. But the best way I am able to fight stress is the nightly 3-5 kilometer walks I've been doing for more than a year now.

When I'm really stressed, I usually go shopping or go to nearest stores and buy a favorite food like chocolate and ice cream or something I've been craving for. These things makes me happy!

When I'm stressed, listening to music relaxes me. I especially like lovesongs, pop or RnB. I might have a chocolate too. At work, I like to drink coffee. It relaxes and stimulates me at the same time.

In stressed situations, I need to stay alone. Sightseeing, listening to the sound of birds or any relaxed music (for example: James Last). Sometimes, it`s just enough to close my eyes and just desconnect from the world. Absolut silence!
