what can we do to make this world a better place for the younger children?

in todays world there is so much violence and abuse and it hits the younger generation of children. like the violence in the schools what can we do to make it safer for our children?:

Get involved with the schools join in the PTA make a point of talking to the teachers. If you hear of your child being picked on keep doing what you are by bringing it to the attention of the school. Talk to the principal and schedule meetings with him and the teacher and try resolving it through parent conferences. Talk to you little boy and girl. Let them know they can tell you anything not to be afraid to speek up and tell them they need to communicate with the school staff about what is happening.

thank you aggiejoe for the response. but else coould we as parents do to make it safer for the children. maybe instead of going to the teachers and principal we should take to the schoolboard. it has happened to my little girl. it has also happened to my boy. it has been so hard seeing them come home and tell me what has happened. so i think that it should be left up to the school board. and also the other parents and the staff.
