that gunk in my keyboard..

regardless of how well we take care of our keyboards, there will always be some sort of dust or gunk that gets stuck between the keys of the keyboard. cleaning it up always takes a bit of effort to do.. and when i tried vacuuming my keyboard once, my 'S' went missing i always try to keep my keyboard clean..but that unsightly gunk and dirt always manages to get in between the little gaps. it's like it is inevitable that it would happen regardless of what i do.. and now my 'S' button is okay, but my 'A' button is starting to get wonky.. i hate that gunk in my keyboard..

Put it in the dishwasher, Mario. That helps. Hope you have a extra one to use for a week. TATA.

You can actually do it that way. But you need to let it lie upside down on a towel for a week. It cleans it nicely.

Have patience. They are trying to develop a keyboard that does its own vacuuming everyday every second and is able to spit out the gunk the moment it is delivered!

ooh...oooh...try this out. before you wash your glasses, submerge the glasses in a bowl of water (mmm...remember to take the glasses of you first ), then pop in a couple of alka-seltzer tablets...let it bubble out for about 5 minutes. then rinse your glasses and stuff like you normally do. it gets the gunk out from all the nooks and crannies without that much effort..! i tried it and it actually works i got that tip watching Martha Stewart

I laughed so hard when I read that your efforts to clean your keyboard caused your S to go missing! That's too funny! I don't know how deep into the board your gunk goes, but I find a qtip with a little cleaner, like the stuff you use for tape cleaning, works wonders for the sides of the keys Better yet, get a black keyboard and don't worry about it, or get a rubber keyboard and you won't have the problem!

hmmm, I'm thinking, "voice commands" would be a nice solution. I"m sure its not too far away. It sure would cut down on carpal tunnel!

yeah... my 'S' left behind a hole on my keyboard.. the qtip thing works...but it seems that there's a bit of dirt or dust or something under the keys too.. i used to have a flexi rubber keyboard..but it really didn't suit me well. i always messed up on the typing and stuff.. i think i need a really durable keyboard. maybe like something they use on oil rigs or something like that. for the tough ones with tough tubby fingers like me

I just mop it with a tissue.. not really mop, just swipe it once or twice before I use it. But I use a laptop, so the keyboard is not really a problem.

flexi keyboard.................................... - flexi keyboard................................................
Hi Mario, mine is a new keyboard and already the space bar sticks because of so called gunk, I tip it upside down to get any loose particles out but like you no matter how careful you are it always seems to get messy. I was thinking about getting a flexi board as these can also just be wiped over or a cover for when not in use, I used to have one of these at the office.

hi Ellie good idea about that flexi keyboard.. but i'm not sure if it would be able to hold up to my rigorous typing although i already do have one of it...maybe i can use it for a while until i get myself another keyboard..

ha....I use the plastic covers got with ma keyboard...so it still looks new... I need to clean only the plastic cover......try this..you ,may feel uncomfortable for typing a few days...but will get with it soon... but for laps,notebooks....we have no other way.. but clean our hands before using it....... thanks for sharing... have a great day/night........

that plastic cover thing is good...but i can't seem to type properly if it's on my keyboard. i'm one of those types that need to 'feel' the keyboard as i type well...i guess i really need to clean my hands thoroughly most of the time before i start typing
