What will you do if your company posted you for a temporary overseas assignment and given you cash allowances and overseas allowance but the moment you arrived at the destination, the company wrote an email telling you that the overseas allowance will not be paid to you due to internal miscommunication. What will you do? How do you feel?
The difference between overseas and cash allowance is that overseas allowance can be seen as the salary of your temporary overseas assignment and cash allowance can be seen as taking care of your daily needs such as meals, groceries, transport and others.

Do you have any contract about overseas allowance when you were transferred to other country? If yes then it is your right to redeem the said allowance. You should fight for it since it is not easy to live in another country where you have to manage the cost of living difference. Get what is due to you, I wonder why some companies have this issues.

i'd definitely feel bad and cheated. ill write a complain regarding this and send it to my immediate suppervisor, manager, HR, and othe department that is connected. It would be also good, if i have a contract or any written agreement to the issue. Coz that is very much sensitive to be just "miscommunicated" especially i left my family
