I am new here in myLot. My name is Gaia, I'm very pleased to meet you all. I'm 22 years old student, I like to study foreign languages and culture, more different they are, more fun is it for me. As of now I speak Italian, English, German and I'm still studying Japanese, Spanish and a little bit of Korean and Chinese from time to time. Which languages do you speak? What do you find useful to learn them? I personally prefer to talk with someone whose mother language is the one I'm studying and watching TV series and programs. And you?

That's so cool, I would like so much to live there, sooner or later. I don't know though, I don't find Japanese that hard to learn - when I tried Chinese, I encountered more difficulties. The kana alphabet is a big help in Japanese language, and the grammatic is not as though as I would have expected. The really difficult thing is to learn the many shades of the language, the formal one, the one for the women, the one for the men, the way you have to talk to a superior and the way you have to talk to someone else, and more than anything, the Keigo language.

Thank you, you're so kind! Actually, I think that when you start learning a language, you'll find out it's much easier than you would have expected. The first time are rough, but when you get the principal grammar rules, everything will be easier and more fun. Spanish and Japanese are being great fun for me, I definitely recommend you to try if you have spare time, especially Japanese. If you need advice, I'm here. :)

Hello....i'm amazed that you speak a lot languages. It's pretty amazing. I'm from Philipines so i speak our national language which is "Tagalog". But because Philippines is a country that was conquered by lot of nationalities long ago so lot of Filipino people are multilingual. We Filipinos have 2 main languages that we use and most people here in our country knows how to speak it, it is mainly English and Tagalog. But aside from that we also have lots of sublanguages which we called "dialect". Some of them are bisaya, waray, ilonggo, maranao, tausog, chabakano or broken spanish and lot lot more depending on the place that we live in. So aside from our 2 main language we Filipinos tend to speak our language from the specific place that we live. And on my case i can speak 4 sublanguage, english and tagalog. I am also learning how to speak arabic since i have a boyfriend brought up from middle east, and learning also how to speak japanese cause i think it's cool.

I see the Japanese language is becoming pretty popular lately! I have some Filipino online friends, and all of them speak super English, and now I understand why. I'm pretty amazed by Tagalog, when I happen to read them exchange messages on twitter and such, and I would like to study that language sooner or later, just learn how to survive with few sentences would be enough. Do you use romanic alphabet or do you have another alphabet or script for Tagalog?
