How do you make up your eyes when you have red lipstick on?

Hi people!
I have a question for women (or men with a make up and fashion passion): what kind of make up do you put on your eyes when you're wearing a bright red lipstick?
I feel attracted to red lips lately, but I've always tried to draw the attention to my eyes with make up. I just got kind of confused, I think the make up on the eyes should be really light, if you don't want to end up looking like a clown, when you have your lips painted in bright red.
I thought of putting only mascara, a couple of hands maybe, and no eyeliner and such.
What do you think?

I actually haven't found a nice shade of red lipstick that matches my skin tone yet, but I love red lipstick! I'll keep trying!
Normally, I wear a smoky eye look with blue eyeshadow. But If I were to wear red lipstick, I'd probably just wear eyeliner and mascara. I wouldn't put any eyeshadow on at all. I think it would look too overdone. That's just my opinion though!

I totally love the smoky eyes look! I usually wear it with black and green eyeshadow, since my hair is bright red (dyed) and I think green matches the color more than blue. But I agree with you, sporting smoky eyes with a bright red lipstick would just look too much.
Do you have pale or tanned skin? Because I looked for a nice shade of lipstick for months, and I finally found a tutorial that helped me to learn how to use a red lip pencil and a red gloss. The result is super nice!

I love red hair. I wish mine was a dark red. I might dye mine midnight blue though, almost black with my boyfriend soon.
I have pale skin. I never find the right shade! What was the tutorial?

Aw, I think red lipstick looks amazing on pale skins, because the lips pop out much more.
Try to look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjjUayEa1zE
The girl has a pale skin, and even though the tutorial requires a bunch of instruments, you can adjust with the ones you got, I always do like this!

I would like a pretty retrĂ² make up, but I always have the fear to end up looking like a clown...

I love super red lips too. But of course it's not appropriate for all occasions, so anyway, I usually skip eyeshadow and just use mascara and eye pencils. OR if I have to use eye shadow, I stick to neutral shades (shades of beige, brown). It works pretty well for me, but I'm not sure if it will look good on your facial features.

I have really long eyelashes, so mascara just end up making me look like I have falsies on, which is a pretty effect when I have smoky eyes, but it's not when I want to go lighter possible on my eyes make up.
I just have to try to go without make up I assume. :)

Apparently you are supposed to have only one area of focus only, so if you choose to have bright red lipstick today, then that is it, you have already chosen your focu area, so you need to leave the rest of the face free or in very light subtle make-up. Otherwise, if you choose to do both, or more areas, it looks very disorganised and gives a negative effect. If you choose to do the eyes, then don't apply the bright coloured lipstick. Hope this helps. :) xx

Exactly what I thought, I don't want to focus on more areas because I really fear to end up looking like a clown.
Thank you. :)
