Has anyone heard much on the next Spiderman movie film? I heard they're going to use someone else for Spiderman but probably with the same director - Spiderman 4, is it worth doing another one? The first two were great, the third was good, but surely it can't get any better?

just this afternoon, i saw on the newspaper that andrew garfield would be playing spiderman. i don't have any idea who this guy is, but he's cute. the picture was a little blurred, but i think he even looks better than tobey maguire to be honest. but i think if they're gonna be doing spiderman 4, it would be better to have tobey play spiderman for continuity.

yeah, he does look young even on the blurry picture on that paper. i just read the comment next to mine. so i guess the fourth one will be a prequel. sort of anyway. which is probably why they cast a young-looking actor.

No, I don't think a prequel will work, as we already know everyhing about Peter Parker's background, if we going right before he gets bitten by the Spider, then it'll just be all about Peter Parker's biography and not Spider man, are you sure it's going to be a prequel? A sequel is more doable, but they'll have to come up with new ideas and tricks, a good surprise and some thing damn good to make it all work, otherwise everyone's going to anticipate that it's just not going to be as good...

i actually don't have any idea what the plot of the next spiderman movie will be. i just saw the comment next to mine about the reboot thing. like they're maybe gonna do a high-school-aged spiderman. maybe what they'll do is walk away from the story line that spidderman 1,2 and 3 gave us.

yes i heard they will change the main actor well i dont think the movie will be the same if they choose a different actor to play spiderman. i dont like when they just change main actors is like the movie loses a part of his beauty. anyway i wish they change their minds. i like spiderman movies and i be glad if they make a new one^^ but wish they dont change tobey to another one

Tobey Maguire was actually perfect for Peter Parker, so natural and it was like Peter Parker is really Tobey Maguire. I really can't see the new guy fitting in, but you know, sometimes, it does work once you;ve seen the film. Unless they make it so superbly amazing that itwould make you forget the original characters or at least to stop the comparisons, it should be in with a chance...

I heard the guy that played spiderman was tired of doing spiderman. That's why they are using another person. I don't like it when they change the oringmnal actors.
Not sure if I want to see this one. But I probably will eventually.

Right so Spiderman 4 - Sony who own the rights to the Spider-Man movie franchise decided earlier this year to do a reboot rather than make a straight sequel. This coincided with director Sam Raimi walking away from the project along with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. The idea of the reboot was to sort of go back to the beginning focussing on Spider-Man/ Peter Parker whilst at high school and would hopefully be the start of a second trilogy. Then this week after much speculation Sony announced who would be the next Spider-Man, that being Andrew Garfield who it has to be said is a very talented actor.
Now here is the thing, Garfield is either 26 or 27 and so brings into question where the next Spider-Man movie will be going because although you can have twenty something actors playing teenagers it doesn't always look authentic. Plus if they plan to do a high school trilogy then when Spider-Man 4 is released in 2012 it really is going to be a stretch of imagination with garfields age.
Plus to be honest we don't really need another Spider-Man movie or a reboot. The last 3 worked nicely as a trilogy and changing things so drastically after Tobey Maguire made the character his own really doesn't sound like such a good idea.

Ah, I get you now, so, kind of a 'revision' another interpretation of the movie again...no wonder the original players walked out...it's going to be so strange for those who watched the original ones, it might appeal to the newer generation, but...well, we'll see what happens when it comes out.

Bella, the standard is a story could come in trilogy. Star Wars defied that. So did Harry Potter and X-Men. Spiderman is a most enjoyable superhero flick. A prequel could be exciting if they come up with a good spidy plot. A sequel could be exciting too, just to put a closure to the love story.

I know, it's going to have such a different feel if they don't use Tobey Maguire, but Tobey Maguire's like in hos mid-30s now, probably too old to play him...is that why they've replaced him? The rumoured new actor looks a lot younger, I think he's only about 17 or soemthing...
