I love music! I joined a lot of singing competitions during my elementary, high-school and college days. I prefer to pop and RnB music. Among female international singers my favorite is Mariah Carey. I bought her albums as my collections, I make sure that I could at least one new album upon launching in the music stores. Even in my laptop, most of my available songs collections are from Mariah Carey. I just download some of it from a certain website if I could not find the album in the music store. What about you do you like Mariah Carey's songs and how it affects your listening mode?

I also love music and we're both fans of Mariah! :D My girlfriend and I loved her old songs because she was virtually good at belting those high notes. But we love her even more now that she changed her genre to RnB. She's one of the very few artists who really know how to hit the right notes and the right pitches! (you can notice it whenever she performs, she's like pointing in air which indicates the notes she's singing)

I like your comments! I just open a discussion to know the many reactions about their favorite singers here at myLot. Mariah is I think not only versatile in her own right, she can't dance as good as Britney Spears/Beyonce but she does it in her concerts worldwide, sings pop; ballads; disco; RnB and hiphop... and many more! Anyway I love rock songs my favorite: Jon Bon Jovi/Bryan Adams; alternative: metallica/aerosmith; pop: michael jackson/westlife/celine dion; RnB/hiphop: bryan mcnight/neyo/chris brown/MARIAH CAREY. Her extra ordinary belting prowess during 90's gave her a trademark. She is the first female singer to make a perfect whistle register ability in singing that made her to be on the Guinness Book of World Records, another one is hitting the 5 octave vocal range... a powerful and melismatic style in singing made her famous too. I'm proud of her because she belongs to "Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Artist".

Hi! Looking at your picture you seemed like Korean or Chinese, so no doubt you really love your own music!

Yes, I like Mariah Carey's songs too. One of my favorites, indeed. I also like Anne Murray's songs a lot. She has very unique voice and tone. I also like listening to classical music, very relaxing. I have a collection of classical music. I listen to them every evening after I get back home from work. That is my favorite way of getting rid of the stresses of the long work day.

I am much more into classical music, mainly symphonic- Beethoven, Mahler, Wagner, and a little of others. For more modern music I am very stuck around the Duran Duran phase, with a few such as T'Pau, Belinda Carlisle thrown in.
I've nothing by Mariah Carey, but I would not fault her voice.
