Do you think that over the years that people learn from their mistakes or do you think that they still make the same mistakes and never learn.I think that as we get older we learn from our mistakes, i for one try not to repeat those mistakes again.

I think it depends on the person. There are some people who absolutely will never learn, no matter what. Others learn from their mistakes and regret them almost the second they make them. The really fortunate people learn from other people's mistakes and do not have to make them themselves.

I must agree it depends on the person and what he or she believes in. Some people would learn from it but others will just repeat the same attitude in the same circumstance.

By and large many of us do, but there are a sizeable number who never will. It does not matter if you tell them either!

Hello Memnon Most worse, people don't know they are wrong, that's why they can't learn from it. Even they know it, if the time isn't right, they might not even know they should change themselves, so I don't bother to tell them change. If their time has come, they would change without doubt. ^^

We only get to experience the pain if we don't learn our mistake. That's how I understand it though. We can only learn from it once we knew it deep in our heart and accept the consequences of the mistakes we did. Even if you swore never to repeat it, you can always do it again until you really learn it and value the said experience. =)

I hear people say that they will never make that same mistake again only to keep repeating the same mistake over and over again.

sometimes i already want to believe that people don't really learn from their mistakes..because they tend to do worst later on..maybe they need more traumatic experience to give them a hard lesson..personally if i made a mistake..i normally do my best not to repeat it again but sometimes i find myself doing it again consciously or unconsciously..

It really depends on the person. Some actually learn from their mistakes and do forward to do better in their lives. Other don't care and don't take this part of their lives seriously. Sometimes it takes some awful happening for them to understand that they need to change their ways.

sometimes it takes more than one mistake for me to learn my lesson. i'm either stupid, or stubborn. or sometimes i tend to forget some of the lessons i'm supposed to have had already learned. until i make another mistake again, i won't be reminded of it.

When i was younger i made a load of mistakes, but now that i am older they are alot less, but there are a few mistakes that i have made.I think as we get older we tend to learn from most of the mistakes that we have made.

I know that I learn from my mistakes and don't make them again. When I was working and I had my evaluation that was one of the positive comments from my manager. I thought that was neat. I do make mistakes and when I redo something I know what way not to do it so try something different. I think it depends on the person and what the mistake is. Some people keep trying till they get it right, but I guess they learned what not to do.

I do think that there are alot of people out that that learn let alone care what mistakes they have made yet they are always the ones that like to point out the mistakes that others make.

no man is perfect dear friend...and i think that the mistakes are done by a person..not purposely but due to some drawbacks in their nature...and as we all know nature of a human is God's gift and is not much in our control...so in such cases the mistakes are more probable to happen again in life...though i agree with you that as human is a very advanced creature than other animals....we should learn to LEARN AND CORRECT OURSELVES ...

I think it all depends on the person. It would be ideal to learn from our mistakes, but we all know that truthfully not everyone will do so. I know I've regretted the times I haven't learned from my mistakes, but the times that I do bring valuable lessons and a lot of wisdom. For instance, I have four sisters. My older sister would most definitely learn from her mistakes because that's just her personality. She wouldn't be caught twice doing the same thing wrong. However, one of my other sisters has definitely made the same mistakes more than once and suffered the same consequences numerous times. While it'd be ideal for her to only make the same mistake once and then to learn from it, she didn't. I surely hope down the road that she will learn somehow, some way! All we can do is let others gain their own life experiences rather than try to do everything for them - don't you agree? Excellent discussion!

I think that a lot of people can learn from their mistakes. I don't think that everyone will and/or can learn from their mistakes. I don't think that it's in everyone's nature to learn from the mistakes that they have or may have made. I just hope that most people to learn the mistakes that they made and will become better people for this.

Some people never seem to learn. I try to learn, but sometimes I just don't. They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I don't know if I am a little insane or just very stubborn.

I think that as long as i am not the only person that is making mistakes it means that i am not the first or the last person to make mistakes and it is also a way of learning.

Making mistakes is human nature. If you're living a perfect life..you should be scared! You should ask your self "am I still alive"? Paolo Coelho said "Lessons are being repeated until it is learned." I believe in him, you will keep on doing the wrong thing again and again till you've learn how to do it right. Once you've figured it out, there's no way for you to make the same mistake again.

To err is to be human. To forgive is to be divine. Yes, it's very cliche, but if we didn't make mistakes, then we would never learn anything! Somebody that doesn't make any mistakes isn't doing anything. People, however, that fail to learn from their mistakes are prone to having a mistake ruin them. Learning from your mistakes only makes you a stronger person.

Wise never learn from their own mistakes; they learn from the mistake of others. Fools however, learn from their own mistakes; they do not learn from the mistakes of others.

i sort to agree with you. because when we did something wrong our initial reactions when people knew it is to deny it. Denial is our defense mechanisms but as time went by we will realized our mistakes and try or never to do it again.

I think there are both kinds of people, those who never learn and those who do. I think that even those who do learn from their mistakes have a few blind spots. But it is better to learn from some than from none!

i always try to not to commit the same mistakes over and over again. i know i learned from those mistakes. but there are really some times that how much to try, you still make the same mistakes again, unconsciously and unintentionally.

There are some people that takes one time to learn from the mistake and some people take a few more times; but there are some humans that never learn. They thrive from the attention and lie to themselves so they are always the victum or always right. Us humans are weird creatures and I believe that if someone can't learn from their mistakes then they don't need the attention they are looking for. The rest of us do learn from our mistakes and love the fact that we have grown and have more respect for ourselves.

Hi Jugsjugs!. I think we all learning from our mistake every time we feel sorry about it. I learn from many mistake that I did in my life. Its make me a better person and able to understand others people in my life. I think if we able to understand our mistake and fix it its means we grow from day to day.

Most of the people, including me, use to make a mistake, make it again, and then make it all the necessary times before realize that we shouldn´t make it. I would like to be one of those people who never commit two times the same error.

i think we do learn from the mistakes that we make. But we often take decisions so fast that we do not take into account of our previous mistakes or the lessons we learned from it. As we get older we become a little bit more calm and mature that our decisions are more better, maybe it's the difference in our hormone levels or the knowledge accumulated through the past years enables us in doing that.
