Do you windowshop at home on the internet or do you windowshop at the mall?

So I was curious. I go online to amazon and just put in stuff I would curious about purchasing. I used to go to the mall and day dream all the time about what it would be like to purchase some of the clothing from there. I'm a big gal and i was back then. I could even wear American Eagle or other department store brands. That's just how it was and still is to a certain extent. i enjoy doing things with the mall but now it's almost pointless to go anymore. So where do you window shop now? Do you window shop at the mall or window shop online at home?

on the internet they have sites where you can compare the prices plus compare what product would be the best with description and other stuff as well. it gives exact dimension and so you don't feel totally stupid when you go by it at the store. I have bought on amazon a lot more than ebay and other retail stores lately just because i seem to find a better way to compare.

I used to like window shopping on St Catherine st in Montréal, which is where I'm from originally. Since moving to a small city in a different province, I find there isn't much to look at anymore. Most of my "window shopping" is done either online or on the shopping channels on television. xoxo Cyne

We have one of those at the main mall here in town. It's called the Nana store. The prices are exactly the same or sometimes even less than what you pay on T.V., so it makes it a bonus that you don't have to pay for shipping either. Also, if they don't have it in the store, you can put in a request for something and they try to order it for you. Whenever I see something on T.V. that I want, I always cheque the Nana store first now. xoxo Cyne

there is nothing wrong with shopping on tv. I have shopped from qvc and hsn and other infomercials quite a bit. i use most of what i buy as well. Also, if you can imagine this: they have as seen on tv stores out here. So you may pay a little more but you don't have to pay for shipping on each item. It just depends on how long you are willing to wait for it to come out in the store before you go buy it. have a good day.

ebay is great. I post stuff to sell on there frequently. i also like it because I have my pay pal account and I can use my pay pal account on there for payment instead of having to ask my mom for the money. cause I don't have a bank account.

Well, in relation to the latest top I have bought (which is rare these days due to lack of cash) I saw it online first but realised that if I'd bought it online it would miss the deadline of the "do" I was going to. So, armed with the thought of this top in my mind I actually found it (but not actually looking for it) in the actual "physical" store and it was such a buzz buying this item, I can't begin to tell you I pleased I was. I would say I get equal pleasure out of window-shopping online AND in the outside world...but browsing takes up far more of my time!

addiction is really bad in some people's minds when it comes to shopping. You can tell yourself you need it but then when you get home you don't really use it or wear it. There are people called pack rats and my dad is one of them. He will go through dumpsters just looking for junk that people throw away and he doesn't realize that it's not healthy for him or for the people around. He never uses it and he never gets of rid of it. When we little if we went through and got rid of a bunch of our clothes because we had outgrown them he would take and put them in the garage or somewhere where we wouldn't see them to make us think he got rid of thme when in reality he didn't. i'd say go for the shopping on impulse but be careful that you don' turn in to a pack rat and get these that you never use or never get rid of to give to other people and then you have a house that you can never get clean.

I've never heard of that Pack Rat expression before. It sounds like your Dad may have some kind of disorder if you don't mind me saying so.

I window shop at malls. You can see the real size of the object and estimate where it would fit. You can even see it at every angle and learn most of the thing about the product you want to buy in the mall because they have saleslady who are there to entertain you. Only good thing in online shopping is that you dont have to walk around but just sit in you chair which is in other ways, not healthy for the body.

I see why you like to go to the mall. getting you a little female interaction with sales staff I see. lol. Hey it's cool and okay with me. I'm usually looking for a man at the mall if I go so who knows. Excercise is good for the body. But what about people who can't get out. The internet has given them an option to still be in style and to keep up with times with out endangering themselves or others.

Oh dont get me wrong, haha. Im not in the malls looking for stuff to buy because of the female sales staff. What I meant by what I said was that I go to the malls because the sales staff could tell me more about the stuff I am going to buy and I could question them directly if I had any doubts. They could respond immediately or could call for someone if they needed an answer to my question. You are right thought for poeple who cannot go out, the internet is probably the best option to go shopping for them.

I love to window shop online. Ebay is my favorite place to window shop. I am there almost everyday. I avoid the malls because the temptation is to great to spend.

Ebay is great. I sell and buy from there all the time. I like the auction style stuff but i also like the fact that if I just want a particular thing and I have the money to buy then I do the buy now option. Sometimes it gets gone away with auction style buying

I almost have gto windowshop online. There is a popular mall near me that everyone goes to But I have never been there yet. And all you people who live in Michigan, yeah, believe it or not, I have never yet been to Great Lakes Crossing. I used to go to Summit Place but ever since Great Lakes went up, that place is practically deserted. But my favorite place is E-bay. It's also my favorite place to buy.

I like online more than the mall these days. You can get it shipped to you or do site to store where you don't have to deal with the crowds. i'm very chlostrophibic and even in a crowd I feel like I'm in a box with no where to go or no one to get me out.

Hello crysontherocks. I like to do both at home on the Internet and at the mall. In the past few months, I have been doing a lot more window shopping on the Internet and finally I did a lot of on-line shopping for me and for my friends who asked me for help. It can be very addictive to me when I am interested in getting something that I want to have...Take care.

It does help to do comparison shopping online. I think its better than trying to go to every place there is in retail near you. Especially if you live in a semi large city where you may have 5 or more walmarts and like 5 or more targets, and we have two malls one is east towne and one is west town. A lot of similar stores in each but most of them have different sales even if they have the same items. But during a sale you may not find your size so you have to go to the other store on the other side of town. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get from one side of the town to the other and that is going from East to west on the Interstate. it takes patients especially when we are christmas shopping.

Hi crysontherocks, I used to window shop at home on all the shop at home networks, but found myself get into a spending habit that I have not broken. I can't remember the last time I purchased form QVC or HSN. However, I still window shop. I sort of kill two bird with one stone, if you will. I put on my walking sneakers, drive over to the mall, park at one end of the mall and walk inside from one end of the mall to the other, then I turn around and walk back to my car. I have gotten exercise in a safe environment and window shopped without spending a dime.

I do both. But I liked windowing shopping in the internet because I can only see it through the net and not hold it. The advantage of window shopping at the mall, is that I always end up buying something which is not a good thing cause I wont be able to hold on to my budget if i do that.

It definately makes you think twice about what to buy when you buy it online. You have factors on both side that make the purchase worth it and for me I like showing off what I bought to my mom especially if I feel like i got a good deal where i shopped. We shop a Kmart here in town and since sears and kmart are together now we can put stuff from sears in layaway because they have layaway now. I have been just recently to put my 5 year old clothes for school in. i didn't want to get up at august and not have clothing for her and it be the right size. Kmart has kept everything since the first of june between 30-50% off mostly summer items that they have but I was able to get her cotton pants and solid shirts and some other items that are really nice all for about 175.00 and where i had budgetted 35.00 per week for 8 weeks I ended up at 35 every two weeks instead. i was thinking 10 dollars a shirt and even more for pants and blue jeans. I'll get her blue jeans when school starts. Plus I got a size higher so she will probably be wearing them most of the school year atleast til christmas anyways. Her birthday is the 3rd of spetember so that was also another reason I did it that way. But for a person on a tight budget you would be surprised at how much you would use layaway. ilove it. I wish walmart would have never took there layaway out.

Somethings you just can't resist to get at the mall especially when it comes to spending $50 or more on shoes and other items like that. Shoes are one thing that i do have to say that i like going shopping for. I hate however shopping for boots like western cowboy boots. I can't find anything that fits me when I go so i usually try on everything that they have and nothing still fits. I have fat ankles and I need to by wide souled shoes most of the time so it makes it harder for me to buy boots.

My partner 'window shops for clothes. I try to escape to electricals/ kitchen/ DIY, but usually get imprisoned in clothes aisles. Some sort of female torture device! I window shop on the net for model aircraft kits, which is real easy for my lady, since she does not have to sit there watching.
