Wise never learn from their own mistakes; they learn from the mistake of others.
Fools however, learn from their own mistakes; they do not learn from the mistakes of others.
Do you learn from the mistakes others make...?

Not sure if I learnt from all my mistakes but I do try to learn from my mistakes most of the time. Its good to learn from mistakes and if we learn from our mistakes and others mistake, we will be doing nothing wrong again.

When I was working I watched how our full time cake decorater did things and when I became decorater there were things she did that I did not do because I thought that they were mistakes and did things differently. We had another decorater and one of the things she did was never take 2 days in a row off and when I became decorater I follwed her lead and although I would have liked 2 days off I took Sunday's (I teach Sunday School) and I took Wed off (I teach a childrens Bible class on Wed nights)So yes I learn from others mistakes and from their experiences.

I agree with some of the others. The wise learn from their own and the mistakes of others. I have learned from both and became determined not to make the same mistakes. So not only is wisdom learning from mistakes, but it's "applying" what you've learned, seeing the success, and then teaching others.

We call people wise because they go ahead to imbibe experienced only after they have gained knowledge from others. Meaning they apply that knowledge to gain more experience. Fools do not bother to gain knowledge, they straightaway want to gain experience. Everyone call them fools for this reason.

I don't approve your ideas.Do the wise people not learn from their own mistakes?I think the answer is no.They always have the same mistakes as other people. So they learn from other people's mistakes,at the same time, they learn from their own mistakes.Do you think so?

My dear why do we call them wise? Is it because they make mistakes and learn from it? Wise always have a good judgment and commonsense in practical matters. We do not accept them to make a mistakes. Would you ask a pilot to fly an airplane who has never flown a plane before. You would never trust your life in his hands because he is inexperienced. He is likely to make mistakes. On the other hand you would trust a pilot with experience. You know he would have a good judgment.
Therefore, I do not agree with your statement that wise people too learn from their mistakes. If wise makes a mistakes he never lives to repeat the same mistake. Wise are given task according to their wisdom. Fools are never in a position of responsibility. Have you ever seen one? Please cite one example and I will agree with you. Happy mylotting.

I learned from my own mistakes and from the mistakes of others- at least that was what I thought and believed. But I wondered lately if I really learned anything at all as I still keep repeating the same mistakes. lol!!

Even I do not learn from my own mistakes and that is a big consolation. It means I am not a fool or a wise either.

You are right, its wise to learn from others mistakes, but sometimes we don't want a reason to do what we want to do, we just do it even if we know what happened to others who it it the same way. We realize a lot from our own mistakes than from others as we get to experience the outcome of it.

I have suffered some failures in my life but i learn from them and become a better person no one is perfect but its the ones who bounce back from failures that stand out from all the rest so no one should give up if they fail or make mistakes work hard and you will learn from your mistakes.

I think wiser learn knowledge not only from their own mistakes , but also from others mistakes . However the fools never learn experience from their own mistakes or others'. That is why the wisers become more smart , but the fools still more stupid . do you think so ?

You mean they are wise because they are prone to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes. Think over and tell whether you would call such a person wise? Thanks for your response.

It's not a fool to learn from our own mistake. What is foolish is never learning from other's or own mistake. Whether it be ours or other's mistake, if we know it's a mistake, then we should learn from. We should do the same act because that's MISTAKE.

I learn from my mistakes of course. I don't want to do the same mistakes over and over again. It would kill me. haha. I also learn from the mistakes of others-my parents, siblings, friends and who ever I know.

That is a good thing you do. I appreciate. They call us wise only when we do not make any mistakes. Thanks for your response.

I'd rather believe that wise can learn from their own mistakes and others. Fools, however, never learn from anyone. They are just complaining. I often introspect myself so that I can make the progress and do not make the same mistake.
I also learn from others as a lesson. I am not just saying I'm wise. It's just my opinion. Welcome to discuss
