This is a good question... Why to buy?
Some people offer your softwares for free, but others not, take in count much people live from the money they earn making software, so they have to sell it, I'm sure you don't want that others use your things or get your work for free right?
So if you are using the others work you have to pay for it. for example if you write a good book of any theme, you work so hard to do it, and you hope make some money for your work, but suddenly a scanned copy of your book appears in internet sites and is downloaded illegally and you don't get any money for your work, and you can't sold any more copy (why pay if all can get it for free)... What do you think about it?

It goes without saying, there is a practicality issue when it comes to buying whether it is pirated or original copy of a OS. Here in the Philippines, OS(s) here are way too over priced and the economy here is not doing as well as the other countries so people prefers pirated copies for them to save money. Thanks everyone for the comment.

I buy my software. The people who develop it deserve to be paid for their work. Using pirated software is stealing. I'm not a thief.
There are plenty of free programs out there for people who can't afford the expensive software.

Linux is dirt cheep. You basically pay for the disk and the person burning it and shipping. It's usually about $10 Unless you download Linux from the net. Then it's free.
If a person can't afford an expensive car, is it ok to steal one? It's the same with pirating. Pirating is stealing.

Yeah. Because when you buy this software, I assure you th at you will be looking at another software after 6 months or a year or so. And what do we do with that old software? Well trash bin. It's like money in your trash.. And we threw it away ourselves..

your right my friend! if it is only cheap, all of us can get all the benefits from it. I hope that the OS makers can make consideration for small people to afford their products with cheaper price. Thanks!!

I think that the downside of buying this original copies is after a year of use another better OS arrives and, you will have to buy it again. If original OEM users have the benefit of a discount or trade policy the old original OS to new OS then maybe lot's of the users will be buying those expensive original OS.

They charge enough for it that you could argue the moral high ground! One unfortunate effect is that MS do check the codes. If they find them over used, they will cut off your access to automatic updates, unless you buy a new product code- £65.
That's fine if you have installed your own copy: a case of reap what you sew. I once bought a PC where someone had quite clearly used one copy of XP to load a whole batch of PCs.
Had I not been a bit more savvy, I would have had to fork out for a code. I would have reported the retailer, but they have since disappeared.....

We technicians are told to turn off the automatic updates of the windows OS, so that the detection of your copy will be safe. thanks for the reply.

At the moment I am using the pirate version of Windows 7 . I did no bother to use the pirate version of Windows. There no sense to give a money once I found a good windows at Internet. Do not you think so ? But the original version is better than the pirate. I think that on this issue. What are your views. Does anyone think the same as me ?

If you think it's OK to use a pirated version of Windows is it OK if your boss decides not to pay you for your work? It's the same thing. The developers of the software need to be paid for developing it. They get paid by selling the product.

This theme about piracy of windows has much afferents opinions and points of view, much people thinks that windows OS is bad and don't offer enough stability and usefulness, and thus is so overpriced (I agree with this point of view).
So windows OS must have a very lower price for what it offers, and much people don't want to pay for it and use pirated versions.
For other part there are alternatives like linux distros that cost so much less or even are free, but I think linux is a little hard to use yet and much people don't use it, or don't know about it.
I've heard some rumors that Microsoft itself allow certain amount of pirated versions of windows, so all people use windows, even if they are not paying for it, and this manner they can extend their monopoly all over the world, by avoiding the people to use and know about other operating systems, I don't know if this is true or not, but it could be a possibility, why not?
Regards...
