I dont think that nokia 3110c is symbian phone, as far as I know it's an S40v3 or 2a. My other phone which is nokia 5300 also encountered the same problem which is the "no music files found" and lately I knew that the problem is on the memory card. Every time that message show, the mem. card isn't detected.

I'm not sure if 3110c is symbian phone but to install the latest software for your phone go to nokia.com and look for nokia software updater.
This program will automatically download the update for you and install it. Be careful not to disconnect your phone from your computer and ALSO make sure you have at least 70 per cent battery life. Don't worry if your phone switches off and on during the installation. It is normal, and it is normal to see nokia logo for like 3-4 minutes for the first time after the installation. Don't disconnect it until you are able to access your phone's home screen.
P.S. just checked your phone model and you have NO symbian and it won't be compatible with your phone. However you still can do the steps I said a in this post and it will update your phone. If the problem still exist after doing all of them try formating your memory card. It might be bugged. Try using a friend's memory card and test your music player and other such things to see if your memory card fails or it is the whole phone. If the problem is still there try to get it back for repair if it still has warrnaty! It might be hardware issue too.
