Some of us have heard about the 1000-article challenge at Triond. I'm gearing up for this challenge myself and I'm running short of topic ideas. I was just thinking of gathering as many topic ideas from our mylot writers. If I can get each one of you to come up with 10 topic ideas and if 100 of you responded, I will get 1000 topic ideas.
It may be wishful thinking to have 100 respondents, but it will be a great start for anyone who wants some ideas on what to write about and fulfill the 1000 article challenge. So what are you waiting for? Share 10 topic ideas with me. It can be on any topic of your interest. I shall share with you my 10 topic ideas for a start.
1) Donut Shops in Singapore
2) What is your favourite donut flavour?
3) Easiest Donut recipe
4) How many calories is in a donut?
5) Maxi Cash and Moneymax - a new generation of pawn shops
6) How to Make the Softest Pandan Cakes
7) Easiest Pandan Cake recipe
8) Criteria for Buying a Printer
9) Chewy Junior - not another cream puff
10) Felicity Loves KinderJoy
Share with me 10 topic ideas now!

Wow, can be hard.. but good luck with that, I think it can be done. Your ideas are not bad at all. I can't come out with exact titles, but choose 10 titles relating to a genre or niche. Like making money; 10 topic ideas about it. Or something about marriage, 10 topic ideas. That sort of thing..
Good luck, Syd..

Ha-ha.. Syd.. I'm all over the place.. feels like the octopus, LOL!!
1000 articles possible? All the best.. surely not for me.. I am too lazy to do that. I don't even blog anymore, wuahuaahuiahua.. but it's like a breeze here in the lot with post counts. A breeze..
Good luck with your article writings.. I wish you the best, sweets..

7000 posts! I didn't notice you had so many!! If each of these topic is expanded to an article, you would have 7000 articles. Not blogging anymore either? You really lazy lah...
But sometimes, we all need a break I guess.. Thank you, honey..

The elusive Zed is here!
Where have you been? Writing 1000 articles is possible. If I consider ther number of reviews I did for ReviewStream and Ciao last time, my count would have been much higher. But since the challenge is to write articles that would generate passive income, I will just look at my Triond and Bukisa articles.
Thanks for the ideas!

Hi Cher,
I don't have specific chosen subjects. I write on various topics of interest at that point in time. So most of the time, I just need my laptop and my brains to write... hehe

This is a great challenge. If I include my own website and all my blog posts I already have 1000 articles online. If I don't count blogging, I have around 800 articles published online. Most of these are at Helium, but I also write for a number of other websites. I shall challenge myself to write another 1000 articles by the end of next year!
My idea for topics: Sydney you have more than 1000 posts on myLot, so you could choose 1000 article topics from all the discussions you have started or participated in so far, expanding each of your own responses into a full length article.

Hi paid2write,
It's been a long time since I see you around mylot. You always have the perfect answer for any question, as always.
800 articles is superb! You are so close to the 1000 mark. I know that you have been a big fan of Helium and me Triond. I'm sure you are making good money over there by now. I stopped writing for a long period of time and I'm trying to catch up.
You have been a source of inspiration for me when I first started writing online. Hope to see you more often around here in myLot.

Does "trivial" matter?
I'd write an article about every song from Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden, Metallica, Black Sabbath and Audioslave for an ultimate rock tribute. Then I'd bust out an article about every one of George Strait's number-one hits (about 54 to date I believe), for a little country flavor. Then I'd have to pay respect to all my shows and movies I love.
That covers the thousand here.

Hi matersfish,
Nothing matters when it comes to writing your 1000 articles. If you have great interest in music, your articles should sell quite well. I love writing about movies too. I mainly write movie reviews. Thank you for your contribution!

Hi SydneyHazelton, since joining Triond on 31 May 2010, I have more than 280 articles already.
Most of the articles are written in a series. That means if I want to write about chronic headaches, I try to find enough material for ten articles on chronic headaches.
The problem is that this method of writing is very boring ah. After four or five articles about headaches, I am getting very sick of the topic already.
One of my first articles in Triond is about finding writing ideas http://writinghood.com/writing/writing-for-money-online-writing-ideas/
The first tip is to use Yahoo Answers. Since people post the question, that means there is a demand for the topic.
The best is that there are usually two or three very good answers. Just take the question and answers to develop into a 400 words article.
I think you can reach 1,000 articles before the end of this year in this way. The problem is that you are too lazy to write!
Do you need spanking in order to start writing?

Yeah, I need lots of spanking. Haha! 280 articles in over a month is superb! You are great at churning out articles. I often try to think about related topics, but like you said, after awhile it gets pretty boring and you tend to use the same vocabulary. It will definitely give me lots of headache.
I actually do the opposite with Yahoo! Answers, find the questions after I have written them. Haiz...
I'm thinking of writing 1000 articles by the end of the year, but I'm churning 2 or less on average. I think you will reach your 1000 in just a few more weeks.
As much as I need spanking, I think I'm doing slightly better than a couple of weeks back. I'm going to catch up with you. You just watch! Haha...

Hi Sydney, I will watch and see when you can catch up.
I enjoy writing some of the articles very much. The most enjoyable is this article about Polyrhachis vicina Roger being a nutritious food.
I think most readers are deceived by the opening paragraph. Until they know that this Polyrhachis vicina Roger is the name for edible black ants, then they start to laugh.
It sounds weird to eat black ants. I got the idea for writing when I saw the black ants pill in Chinese medical hall.
I was not looking at anything in particular. Just waiting to pay for my cough mixture, and my eyes happened to see that black ants pills.
I wrote about this Polyrhachis vicina Roger after a few minutes of research. I think writing ideas exist everywhere, just a matter of whether you want to write or not.
I have a few fans in Triond who are smarter. They read my articles, copy my keywords and write their own articles.
I can see that they get their ideas from my articles. I wrote about writing 10 articles per day, then one fan writes about writing 20 articles a few days later.
I wrote about certain health conditions, touching on the symptoms. Then one fan wrote about the treatment.
I think they are lazy but smart. Probably much smarter and more diligent than lazy Syndey.
Does little Syndey need Polyrhachis vicina Roger? do you want the steam black ants or live black ants? How about freeze dried black ants? I am willing to bet you will have more energy after eating live black ants for a few days.

Hi, did I tell you about the Redgage Visa?
I got the card, and had verified the account with Visa. It is actually a gift card, a form of cash card.
I just hope to win the next contest and gain another $25. The page views payment is way too long to the next payout.
I have made just $4 with the page views.

Hi inday,
Don't be discouraged just because someone else has already written an article on the same topic. There will always be something you can add value to, or even look at it from a different angle. If you look at the articles I have written, I'm pretty sure that some of them have been written by other writers before.
If you write for leisure, I think you can take all the time in the world. But for me, I need the money. This is one way I can increase my passive income.

Guys, your thread in this discussion has just inspired me to continue writing. Right now I just have handful of articles in Bukisa. I understand sometimes choosing a topic eats up our time, it even takes longer than writing the article itself. On the other hand, I'm sure your insights here are tested and proven; I will surely give those a try. I hope I reach at least 100 articles before the year ends- you know baby steps.

yes baby steps does it...
In 2008, I took the entire year to write 100 articles. I was doing it leisurely then. But now the urgency sets in and I wanted to write as many articles as possible. My target is to write 1000 articles by the end of the year, but at the rate I'm going, it may not be possible.
But I'm going to try my best to write as many as I can. Let's see my article count at the end of the year...
