yes but driver will install automatically with the webcam i think its not a big deal just when you plugged then it will works with automatic drivers like our pendrivers

On some items of hardware no software is required and the moment you plug the device into your computer it should be recognised by the Operating System you are using! I think the most important thing to check when purchasing any kind of hardware is the minimum system requirements! To be on the safe side I would purchase a new web cam and do some research prior to making the purchase. USB 2.0 is quite common now on most computers and it's the latest speed at present I think so providing you have a USB 2.0 port on your computer then you shouldn't encounter any problems. Is the camera second hand on ebay or new? Web cameras are so cheap these days it's well worth purchasing from a recognised brand name or a reputable company as it were! That's not to say that I don't recommend ebay as I use them myself and they are very good. Anyway if the description says that no drivers are required then it sounds a lot like plug and play, that's the technical term for it! You plug the device in and you should be ready to go! Good luck. If you really want those items, go, buy them. Then you just have to browse the internet for drivers and software needed. There are sites out there that can provide you free download of driver/software. The items in eBay are cheap, but most of them don't have drivers. It's up to you to search for drivers.

Hi ramaswamy, Most of the modern branded webcam drivers are shipped along with Windows operating systems(XP & Above). So theoretically you don't need to install any additional drivers in most cases unless the vendor is having some special features in the product. But, every webcam are sold in the market with a driver CD which you MUST ask from the retailer. There are some cheap quality webcam's and computer parts available in the local market, and most of them even do have a driver CD with them. I don't know why the seller at ebay is not providing a driver CD along with the product! If you wish to not having problems in future with the device, please avoid the seller who refuses to give the driver software along with the device. There are so many sellers on ebay selling webcams, and obviously the same model with different prices. You may look for another seller. -Jithin :)

It will. There are a lot of plug and play web cams right now. Once you plug it, windows will automatically detect the drivers as long as your connected to the web. Visit your local computer shop and ask for plug and play web cams.

Hi, You will be able to take photos. But you can't load them into your computer without that software. The driver is a software that educates your computer about the existence of a new device such as webcam. Without the driver your computer is totally blind. You may find the USB driver here http://www.softwarepatch.com/tips/usb2-driver.html but don't forget to check out for the compatibility with your motherboard. You really don't have to wait for that CD to be shipped to you. You can do it yourself. You also don't need to buy these softwares. They are freely availably on the internet.
