so, how did you celebrate? Please tell me all about it. I'm a Canadian married to an American, so we celebrate both. We were out of town on Cabada day, July first, so today we bought red maple leaf cookies for Canada, and white stars with red and blue designs for the USA and went next door to the veterans club. They all loved the cookies.

I went to the parade with my DIL and granddaughter on Sat. night and we were supposed to go out to our camper on Sunday but got rained out so I spent my time here relaxing....and watching some of the fireworks on TV....Our Fireworks were last night...but it was still wet and icky out so I opted to stay home.

It rained all weekend here. I think it probably ruined a lot of people's plans.

That was an awfully nice thing to do. I didn't really do anything for the fourth of July. My dad's side of the family gets together and rents a big cabin at a resort about three hours away. I didn't go this year. I needed a break. I watched a movie, The Eclipse a movie I got through Netflix (NOTHING to do with Twilight, lol), and watched part of a baseball game. Hey, baseball games are supposed to be as American as apple pie...does that count as a celebration? I did hear a lot of fireworks from the inside of my apartment, but when I peaked out the patio door, I couldn't actually see any of them.

We didn't celebrate this year. Normally, I have a barbeque and invite friends and family but, this year, it was just too friggin hot!!! We're having a horrible heat wave which is supposed to continue through the week, with temps over 100 F every day. Yesterday, it reached 102 here, although a high of 92 was predicted. Today, a high of 100 is predicted so we'll just have to wait and see how high it actually gets. It's normally higher than what is predicted. Wednesday's prediction is for 103 so I'll probably not be going out at all, even to water the garden. I only heard one or two fireworks go off last night (the 4th). I believe the fireworks display for the city here was cancelled due to the extreme heat and very low humidity. We live about 8 miles outside of the city but I normally hear them and see the higher ones going off but I saw nothing last night. They're talking about "cooling centers" being opened up for those without air conditioning. We have a mall and plenty of stores with air conditioning and I hope that anyone without AC will take advantage of these places and not try to stick it out at home. Fans won't do any good, just move the hot air around. When I had rabbits, they were kept outside. On extremely hot days, I'd freeze 2-liter bottles of water and place them in the rabbit pen. They'd stretch out beside the bottles to keep cool. People need to take lessons from the animals so they can avoid heat stroke! My husband brought maple cookies back from British Columbia when he went there on business. It was the first time I had ever tried them and was a bit skeptical, since the only maple-flavored thing I've ever had before then was syrup for my pancakes and french toast. I was very pleasantly surprised! They tasted great!!! I'm glad you had a good time and everyone enjoyed the cookies!

Well, I live in the country ,so one of my neighbors likes to entertain everyone by having a Fireworks show in front of the house ,so everyone can see it from a distance ,so is really fun.

hi danishcandian here at Gold Crest we had a barbeque lunch on the patio with hamburgers and every thing on them. iced soft drinks and ambrosia It was fun but still the non sugar free soft drink did me in so I had to leave before everything was over.it was a sore of lame attempt at a real celebration here. I have to be here as we lost our apt and after all these months my son has now got a job so maybe someday soon I can move out of here.So the real fourth was boring if I had not got back on mylot and the web and forgot it was even the fourth.so it was not much of any kind of real celebration at all.
