travel to europe through the euro channel

I like travelling very much. when I was studying in England I liked visiting the countrysides. I visited Wales many times because it was not far from my off-campus residence. I went to europe twice-- first to Normandy and second to Amsterdam. That time the construction of the euro channel was nearly completed. I really wanted to go to europe through the channel but I couldn't because I had to return home for good to my country. Is there anyone to share with me how good it is to be on the euro channel?
