or what looks similar to a rose hip but a large almond shape. Is it a seed? Anyone know if I could grow more plants from it once it dries out? I don't know much about this perennial other than they are beautiful, smell good, ants guard them......

Peonies are best grown from a division of the root system. Peonies, like many flowering plants, will not grow true from seed, which means the baby will likely look nothing like the mother. Your best bet is to go a nursery and buy a potted peony or dig up your old peony, divide it and replant it. By the way, peonies are very long lived plants; up to 20 years or more.

hi 3snugglebunnies oh cut off those things so it will bloom longer, after it is done blooming, you just separate the plants, divide them and you will have many more peonies, they do not come true to the good plants you have from seeds, but all you have to do is divide the plants so you will have more peony plants., they are very long lived and no do not grow from seed at all.
