What do you understand about antioxidants? Science tells us that vitamins A, C, and E are antioxidant vitamins. Food scientists and nutritionists believe that antioxidants function to slow down the ageing process of our body cells, and advise us to take enough antioxidants apart from getting enough nutrients in our daily diet. Do you think that your body is receiving enough antioxidants daily, weekly or monthly? Is it easy for you to get supplies of antioxidants or do you always forget/ignore the functions of antioxidants?

Antioxidants neutralise oxidised organic compounds that attack cells and DNA. This is why they protect against aging, cancer and other diseases. If DNA is not attacked by oxidised compounds, there is less chance of it mutating and causing a carcinoma. You're right, these are found in the B-complex vitamins, as well as A, C, E, and some natural plant remedies such as Withania Somnifera. That's the simple way of putting it anyway, start more discussions on it if you like, I'll be happy to comment.

I was once very conscious of my vitamin intake and would purchase loads of vitamins just to be sure that my body have adequate vitamins. Then it dawn on me, why should I take synthetic vitamins when I can get wholesome foods which are much better than those bottled supplements. At the end of the day I only end up with expensive urine and making the manufacturers rich!

I have heard a great deal about the benefits of antioxidants but I don’t pay a great deal of attention to which foods contain them. I attempt a healthy diet daily and I take a multivitamin every morning along with iron and vitamin C because I have low ferrotin.

I don't think we can ever get enough of these antioxidents. I do try to fit in blueberries and certain lotions that have antioxidents. They have been proven to be very good for us.
