At the start of the 2010 season, the Atlanta Braves looked as if they had already begun to fall behind in the race going with 9 wins and 14 losses in the month of May, including a late April 9 game losing streak. The month of of May proved a big leap for the Braves, winning 20 games and losing only 8. With the May boost, the Braves swept past the number one Phillies winning the three game series on the first of June, which extended the Braves winning streak to 7 into the month of June. Since the first of June, the Braves have been sitting comfortably in the first place slot in the National League East Division. The Braves have also now been recognized nationally by their amazing performance led by the no doubtably to be named Hall of Famer, Bobby Cox. As of July 5, now 5 Braves have been voted into the Major League All Star game: Now sixth time All Star Brian McCann, the veteran Tim Hudson, Rookie Jason Heyward who is now the second youngest to be voted into the All Star Game behind Ken Griffey Jr., and First time All-Stars Martin Prado and Omar Infante. As the MLB season approaches the halfway mark, the Braves must keep pushing forward to hold their first place spot and may continue to the post season and bring a strong finish to Bobby Cox's final season.

Well said, runeguy. I've been a Braves fan for almost 30 years and this is one of the most special seasons I can remember. After the past several years of not making it to the post-season this year they definitely have the best shot they've had in awhile to make it. If they go all the way and win another world championship it would certainly be one heck of a fairy-tale ending to some legendary careers: those of Bobby Cox and Billy Wagner who have already made their decisions to retire at the end of this season, and that of Chipper Jones who could very possibly retire after this season as well. But, a World Series Championship would also be a great way to open a new era of Braves baseball with the new young stars like Jason Heyward, Yunel Escobar, and young but veteran catcher Brian McCann carrying on the legacy of the Atlanta Braves. I have to admit I seriously had my doubts early in the season but they finally look as if they have gelled as a team. And I'm soooo excited. LET'S GO BRAVES!!!!!
