regarding the result of last may's polls, of course. what do you think of this? i mean there was once a case in a local government when this was done and i think the result came out mere days after the next election with the aggrieved party being proclaimed as the winner. with the result of the last national elections i think this is going to take almost an impossible amount of time.
also, don't you think roxas has had enough of a sour graping attitude already? this might affect his next running.

I have not made up my mind on this issue. On one hand, I think this is a good example to set to losing candidates. The system was not perfect, but really the practice of sourgraping losers is just grating to the ears.
On the other hand, I am also curious whether those votes that were declared null are really null as defined by law. Its a gray area and the resolution of this issue would help in succeeding elections.

Well if you all know that the results of the elections was really a close fight. with only a miniscule votes to make it a tie so I think mar is doing all he can to check the validity of the count and ensure that no votes were left uncounted which I doubt if there were indeed counts that were not counted in his name.
But I were him, I guess you are right if you are planning to run for the next big election this case might not be helping him at all. If you would look at Loren Legarda she took all her efforts to contest her counts with Noli and Noli remained VP until the end. And she did not even got the 2nd place in the current elections. I think for Mar he can always return to being as Senator and do what he can to make his image once again known to many.

i guess mar roxas had a hard time deciding whether he would file this case or not, right? it's like die if you will and die if you don't.

If Mar thinks that he should be the winner for the Vice President position then this is the proper way to go about it. Let's just see how this will go but I believe this will take a very long time to finish. There's even a possibility that Mar is already the President of the Philippines when this gets handled by our courts.

I have a feeling that this would come. I voted for Binay and will still stand on my vote. As for Mar Roxas - I don't want to judge him sour graping but if he thinks he's being cheated and wants a recount - maybe he could file a case. But just like what Loren did after he lost to Noli de Castro - it will take sometime.

Hello ritchelle,
why wouldn't he? he gambled by going down to Vice President and letting Noynoy take the President position that would get sympathy votes and drag him, which didn't happenHE'S filing a case because it's the only way he knew trying his best to get the possibily of allowing the NULL votes to be included. but for my personal opinion, i think it's still a waste of time and money

thanks for posting . but i think this action of mar roxas of letting noynoy take the lead should be the farthest thing from his mind since i think he did better in the results of running for the vice presidential race. i wonder what place he would've taken had he run for the presidential race.

Bad move an impractical one, if he would review the history of filing an election complaint it would take a lot of time and money, and usually a few months or even weeks the verdict will come when the will expire.
This will also yet bring another division to our disgusting political system, Vice-President is merely a spare tire, he should not waste his effort and move on, or better yet ask P-noy a position in the cabinet where he can be more useful.

The right thing to do, when in doubt about the results, is to file an electoral protest. That is so because that is the only way to correct a mistake, if there is any. But, if I am Mar Roxas, who I believe is the rightful VP, I would let it be. I know it is technically and legally scary because we are talking about the second top post. But our Comelec is not to be trusted after the folder scam opened a can of worms. Mar Roxas would just be consumed by his focus on this truth. But of course Mar is not me. He might have smarter ideas and ways as to how to correct this. His opponent is a toughie.

i also think your right. Don't he just want attention. Is it really hard to accept the fact that people change their mind a month before the election. He just have to accept it and if he really wants to help our country then I suggest that he find other project where he can help

this is like the case of loren vs. noli...what was the result? i don't know. i guess electoral protest is as complex as murder cases so roxas might end up feeling hopeless as loren.

Although Roxas file a case against Binay, that thing would be to late for Roxas. because Binay was there already to the MalacaƱang doing his job as being the Vice President of the Philippines. Sometimes, we must accept the consequences in able us to be a good sportsmanship.
