Hi to all! Be careful! going out in the sun is still risky and you might obtain skin cancer due to the hot weather despite its already rainy season. What precautions do you do to avoid skin diseases that can be obtained from the sun's hot rays? Thanks to all and happy mylotting!!

Yes, and this summer is extra hot around here. There alot of great products out there. Hope you all use protection. Wearing a hat is a good precaution. Alot of cute hats out there. And alot of the make-ups and facial products have a good amount of sunscreen in them. It is well worth the time to do it.

It is really different nowadays. There was a time before when I was young were you can expose yourself in the sun without having to fear of skin cancer. Well, nowadays, its really important to have protection. I usually avoid exposing myself from the sun, most especially during noon time. I do not wear any sunblock. If ever, I cannot avoid staying under the heat of the sun, I usually wear a long sleeve shirt to avoid direct exposure.

Yes, skin cancer is still out there. My dermatologist says to use sunscreen every day, even on cloudy days. The deep burns you may have gotten many years ago contribute to precancerous and cancerous spots on your body. Any kind of mole or spot on your body should be monitored, and if they start to grow or look different, you need to check them out with a dermatologist, just to be safe. By the same token, many people today are vitamin D deprived, a lot of the time because we don't get out in the sun. There are parts of the sun's rays that are good for us, too. So, I say, use your sun screen, but get out in the sun about half hour a day to get that vitamin D we all need to function well.

...Hi cartright, Good discussion subject. I am still amazed at how many people love to bathe in the sun. Especially when there is or was an ozone problem and we may be getting direct rays from the sun. There also have been warnings that sunscreen is not such a good blocker for your skin. People out in the desert wrap up in all those cloths for a reason, protection. As others have stated here in the discussion the effects don't show up until later in life when it's too late. More education on the dangers of tanning should be given, each time you tan you have damaged your skin. It all comes with a price. Fair skinned people should be so careful. I try to stay out of the sun as much as possible. I once had a case of prickly heat because I kept my arm on the door of my car while driving. That scared me. All should take care as you have said. Take it easy.
