i was swimming last week for about three hours. it helps me to relax my mind since last week was so hard for me.
after that i eat about two plates of rice. usually i just eat one plate, but i feel so hungry. then i just go sleep maybe because i feel so tired after swimming that long. i sleep about ten hour.
my question is, is it health to sleep more than eight hour after swimming and eating two plates of rice?

There's a tendency to feel sleepy and hungry after a good workout swim. I think that's because the muscles have relaxed after the swim, and one tends to feel tired. The hunger pangs will start because err, metabolism is burning? Don't quote me on this one, but this is basically what I think.
I feel very hungry too after a good swim; I think it's rather normal to feel so. Maybe you can control your hunger pangs by snacking on a healthy fruit or a sandwich instead of rice and etc..

I too get very tired after swimming, but I don't sleep because I have lot of other works to do. But I go to bed early if I swim too much, because I feel very sleepy.

Be careful my friends, resting or sleeping after a tiring activity is okay. But eating too much after a very stressful and tiring activity, and then sleeping after eating is very dangerous. Don't eat too much before you sleep when you're tired. The risk of fatal ACH (Acute Hemorrhagic Pancreatitis) is very high!

Yes sometimes I sleep after swimming because when I feel I am very tried then I go to sleep otherwise I never try to go for sleep after swimming so in way I sleep sometimes in my home after swimming and then after swimming I go for my daily work which I planned so in this way I survive my life.

Well, sleeping is indeed a really good exercise. After which it is really nice to sleep afterward considering that its very tiring, but very relaxing indeed. But I think sleeping to much would also make you feel tired and eating to many is also not good.

hi ifa225 no its not really a great idea to stuff yourself like that and shoot your blood sugar up so high with twice the food you usually eat then sleep for ten hours. I would eat something that was more protein and then keep myself awake until your normal bed time and sleep the normal eight hours myself. I am a diabetic and two platefuls of rice would send me into a coma and thats a lot of carbs to eat at one time for even healthy people. eat too heavily and you and even in normal people will raise your blood sugar too high. doing this very often could cause weight gain and real diabetes so be careful.swimming is a great exercise but just eat a normal amount and keep awake until your regular bedtime. if you are again hungry have a light snake of something more protein like half a meat sandwich.

yah i do! swimming makes me feel tired and most of the time after swimming i ultimately rush to bed to sleep! and i think its okie to sleep longer as 8-10 hours but too much of it maybe not that good! with regards to your appetite, its up to you coz if you have consumed a lot of energy during swimming then most probably you would eat a lot to equalize what you have loss.
happy mylotting =)

Yes. That's what swimming does to many people. They feel so hungry after a long swim and they tend to eat with gusto- every time. I think there is nothing wrong with eating heartily and sleeping several hours after a good tiring swim. Just make sure you do not fall asleep right after you have eaten. That is not popularly advised as something could go wrong- they said.

Well, yes, when I go to the swimming pool I spend over 6 hours there. I am swimming, i am baking my body, and when I come back at home I am really tired and I sleep but If the sun has got me, it is bad, because my body hurts and so on. I usually use a sunprotected cream but it does not help all the time. So no matter what I sleep when I come back from the swimming pool, I am so tired that I cannot do anything else even if I want to.

Swimming always makes me tired, so I sleep after I swim, and usually eat something, like, rice, as you said :)
