Do you love your home??

Do you love your home or the area that you live in?? Why or why not?? I hate the city in Virginia that I'm living in now. Though I wasn't born here, this is where my family chose to reside. There are very few job opportunities and not much to do... even on eventful days. The police are corrupt and the crime rate is rising day by day. I would love to relocate to North Carolina, Maryland or Georgia. Where would you relocate to if you had the choice??

I love my own, my native land, Philippines my Philippines . . . as the song goes that every Filipino citizen knew. Anywhere we are outside of the country, we are always raring to go back to our country because we really love the land of our birth. I am not a boastful person, Mrs. Calland but everybody here are cheerful, loving and kind and most of all, hospitable. I would like to invite you to see our place and I am sure to myself that you would love our place. There are lot of Americans leaving here, even the old age US citizen have settled in here due to the above reasons and the kind and friendly weather we have here. You are welcome to be our neighbor.

Yes, why not, Mrs. Callands. Your kids would enjoy life here too, even education here are of high standard, and besides, we have a lot of international schools here, I mean of American school system. Yeah, come over and experience Philippines even for a while.

How about the cost of living?? Is it very high?? I'd have to look into that... I've never even thought about LIVING in another country... I'm sure I'd have to be naturalized and all of that...

Well mrs callands, I suggest you to see the good things in your city, though it may not be providing you good job oppurtunities or facilities, but still it is having something specialin it Than other city, and I am sure about that. I tell u about my city, well Where I Live ,nearby there is my college and my school at a little walking distance, where i studied and played for my school and college football /soccer team. They both have big grounds. After this there is the University from where I did my Law .It has also Big grounds and open roads and beautiful view points in it. You see I love to go there early in the morning for a Morning walk in the University with my Bro and I use to revive My Old Good Memories In University days and It takes me 11 years back and looks to me that It was yesterday , When I Purposed My first Love , The girl of my Life, Though I could not get her in my life But. It feels so good when I daily go there,I daily go to the Guruduwara( Worship Place Of Our Sikh Community as Your Chruch). So I think You should look out for the good things rather than counting the bad ones. Life Will Become Beautiful, I am sure about that. Have a Nice day

The good things about this city are kind of minimal. Virginia has always been known for the vast farmland areas and beautiful scenery... We have a river that splits the city in two... where there was once a booming, textile factory overlooking it. It filed chapter 11 years ago. There are many car lots..... lots of churches..... and lots of graveyards. lol

That is wonderful for you that you love your city and your home. Maybe if the city built up a little bit and had more opportunities for its struggling residents, I'd like it. But, to me, it has always been a hicktown behind the times and will continue to be. Thanks for your comment!!

I would consider it, but it's too far from my family. I'm afraid I'll have to stay on the east coast for now.. What do you love so much about it?? How is the job outlook?? Thanks for your comment!!

What I love most about California is the weather. Sunny sky plus cool breeze is a perfect combination. Jobs are everywhere. As long as you've got an SS number, you'll be fine. Just a while ago I applied at Starbucks and the manager said she's gonna call me this week. Wish me luck! :-)

That sounds like comfortable whether.. and no cold or snow totally catches my attention! lol. Jobs here are scarce... I wish it were like that. I do wish you luck on your impending interview, doubt you'll need it though!

The home I live in now is 100 miles away from the home I used to live in i.e. with my parents. I now live with my husband. He chose this house because it was within staggering distance of his beloved Carlisle United ground, Brunton Park. This I can understand but what I can't understand is why this particular house? It needs a lot of work doing to it. If he'd bought a house that was a few grand more (and this was cheap at the time) we could've been living in a nice semi-detached instead of this box of a terrace. There again, he didn't envisage meeting me did he when he bought the place. The area itself is OK. We are near to the City Centre as it is very compact. In fact, I can walk there and back quite easily, do some shopping, in less than an hour. Blackpool (where I used to live) is a coastal Town and I reckon the air quality is better there than it is here. The houses are more robust..probably to withstand the sea spray nearer the Prom, I don't know, but they are sturdier houses, without a doubt. Having said all that, Carlisle is surrounded by countryside and has loads of public walkways, one of which we walked along about 3 weeks ago. I loved it. Blackpool has its beach of course. I can find positives with both places...I only wish I wasn't 100 miles away from my folks. That can be tough for me if I choose to think about it too much!

Awww... I can understand you missing your family. That's what happens when you put distance between... but it's natural and a part of life. If you didn't miss them, something would be wrong. I'm sure your husband had his reasons and intentions when he purchased the home. A lot of people believe that if you purchase an older home that if you fix it up, it is worth more value in the end... just in case you have to sell it, etc. Maybe he was thinking about the future. The housing market at this time... is a little difficult. It's cheap to buy a house right around now... but the problem that most run into.. is selling the ones they currently have because houses are selling really well right now.. Blackpool sounds like an ideal place for me. I love the ocean... and I like being by the water. Where is Blackpool located?? I hope that as time goes by, you'll find other things that you like about Carlisle so that you and your husband may share this together. Thanks for your comment!!

I live in central New York and i hate it here. my uncle lives in Atlanta, I am going there this summer so i don't know much about Georgia. I recommend go stay in every place you think you might want to live and then decide. That should make the decision very easy.

I've only been to one part of NY, which is where some of my family lives.. in Albany. I imagine it's very fast-paced and competitive there. I think that you'll love Georgia. It's beautiful there and always so much to do. Also, when I lived in Atlanta, finding a job was SOOOO EASY, even without an education. Just give it a try and see how you like it!! Different strokes for different folks is what I always say. Thanks for your comment!!

i actually like our house (although we are fixing it up so we can move. we have too many stairs!) but i like the location. although we are in suburbia, we have enough green space around us. its close to school and shops and my work. hubbys work is only about 15 minutes away.

Your location sounds very convenient for you and your family's lifestyle. I believe that a part of life is about finding out where you fit in and I am still looking for that ideal place.. hopefully I will find it soon because I can't stay here with my parents all my life. Thanks for your comment!!

mrscallands22 I did love the city of Tustin b ut I am now stuck in this retirement center til my son accumulates enough for us to move back into'an apartment but this will take awhile. If we can just find an apartment anywhere around that has decent rent I really will not care but if it was in tustin I would love it so much.we lived there for so long and we know where everything is and the city is small and very lovely as they pride themselves on trees and gardens too.vive la Tustin.California

I love the city I love in, it is gorgeous but sometimes I wish I lived somewhere quieter out in the country. Especially when I am stuck inside studying...I am also stuck hearing walking by my window enjoying the sunny weather. It can be so distracting. I will definitely relocate in the future, because as much as I love this city, there are other cities and cultures that I want to experience!

You kind of sound like me! I know that there is so much more to explore than here in this small city as I have lived other places in Virginia and in places in Georgia and Florida as well. I just am having a hard time pinpointing exactly where I want to be! Thanks for your comment!!

I don't like most of living here in Florida, but there is still so much about it I can't change. The heat and humidity are anoying, but they are just that anoying. I don't mind it so much. At least the winters aren't too bad. I live in central florida. Last winter was the worst the city had had, hell the country. But, I made it through it. As for jobs, don't hold your breath. Most states are in the same crisis. Florida being one of the worst hit as far as job losses. Of course the state relies a lot on tourism, which is at an all-time low between tar balls and tropical systems. Its not really helping things out much. Though the only thing I would probably change is where I live. Despite how the place looks, it doesn't change the fact looking good is only one thing. But, my partner, George, he doesn't always see things that way.

I can imagine how hard it must be living in Florida right now, especially with the oil spill going on. I'm sure that the oil increases the humidity and heat index making it seem hotter than what it really is. I've visited several parts of Florida and loved it including: Tampa, Miami beach, Orlando, Jacksonville, St. Augustine. I bet the tourists everywhere can get annoying at times too... and make the places of business more crowded. I would love not-so-cold winters and basking in warm water whenever I saw fit, but I can definitely understand your concerns. We are all praying that it gets better and that they find a solution FAST. Thanks for your comment!!

Yes I love the area that I live in. I lived here most of my life, except the four years that I gave to the Marine Corps. We have some of the best farmland in the world that is Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. There are many things I just can't get in other parts of the country. It is the little things, certain kinds of drinks, baked goods, meats. There is a good variety of items in the grocery stores, and many country markets here. Progress has changed my part of the country a lot. We still manage to cling to the simple pleasures. I can buy locally grown produce, milk and cheese, locally raised meats. The people have a good work ethic here and good values and low unemployment. I am considering relocating, I will be visiting Mexico for two weeks at the end of the year. I will be looking around for a place to retire to, although I am not sure where I will put myself down, I would like to learn to live in another culture and language.

That sounds sort of like here.. Lots of vast farmland area... cows, horses, llamas... all types of things. We have a country store that I absolutely love called Country Boys... they make their own cheese and sell it by the ounce. It is better than cheese that you would buy out of the grocery store. Scattered along the outskirts of the city are country markets where you can buy fresh eggs, watermelon, all types of fruit (cantaloupe, strawberries), all types of flowers and gardening necessities (mulch, etc.). I guess there is some good parts to living here but I still feel like living here is more for retired people than youth. I hope you have fun on your trip to Mexico and that you pinpoint where you want to be!! Thanks for your comment!!

I love the area but i don't love my home. It's too crowded and I don't have any privacy. I have many sisters and cousins and friends and neighbors. Sometimes they would stay in my home just to hang out with. I don't have my own room since I am sharing it with my sister and her baby. I just love to have my own room do things i want to do. I just love staying in my area but the house isn't good.

my son on the Lancaster Canal - This is my son on The Lancaster Canal which is just at my back gate
Do I love my home? Outside the front gate of my home, literally just across the road is the River Lune and I can look out over the hills of the Lake District. Outside at the back of my home I open my gate and step out onto the tow path of the Lancaster Canal - with narrow boats, swans, geese, and lots more wild fowl - if I look to my left I see the hills of the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales. I can walk for ten minutes along the tow path to our lovely little village, I can walk along the coastal path for 4 miles into the beautiful city of Lancaster! Yes I LOVE where I live!!

Yes I definitely love my home and where I am located although sometimes things just do not go the right way I thought they should. I am sure you pretty understand what I mean. The place I live was a choice for me and I have been living very peaceful except with the stress that comes from my occupation. I have a decent and stable job that fits me and satisfies me so I am content at the moment. Although, in the future I have plans on transferring to a place for retirement which meets my desires for my retirement plan.
