Writing Environment

When I'm writing, I usually love to have my music on- something that goes with whatever I'm writing at the moment (something fun and light for a fluffy scene, something dramatic and emotional for a serious scene). It usually takes me to the moment I want to write. What kind of environment do you like writing in? Does it have to be quiet?

Yes, I prefer to write in silence, otherwise I get too distracted and don't get anything done at all.

I know a few others who are like that. They turn everything off and don't want anything to distract them. My friend said that Stephen King is like that too.

I also like writing with music blaring in my ears! Ironic though because sometimes, I get distracted when I reach a block (like can't phrase a sentence properly or can't figure out the correct term) Haha! I'm not choosy with the mood the music conduces though. Be it upbeat when I'm writing a 'dramatic' piece, or a ballad for an 'action' piece, it's fine with me. As long as I hear loud music booming, I get into the feeling (of writing. Hehe)

LOL. Writer's blocks like that are so annoying. I get them all the time. I know exactly what I want to say but when I'm actually writing, I forget how I wanted to say it and I can't move on until I figure it out. Crazy.

IT is annoying when people try to talk to you while writing. I'm like "can't you see I'm busy?" lol.
