I admit it. I am one of those people who grab bytes from their neighborhood's wi-fi. What can I do, they did not put security codes in them. I think of this as an opportunity since I don't have money to buy one. Well actually I have this USB dongle that can be use for internet but I think it is useless since the connection is very very slow. The product promises a very good speed but they did not kept their promise and only to find out that they are putting limitations in the downloads. Why should I stick there and buy reloads if I could use a free wi-fi that has a fast connection. How about you?

using other's wi-fi connection, without their knowledge/permission, just because they are not using security code is un-ethical according to me, and I will never do so.If i have no money i will not use internet but will never get involved in uneathically accessing other's wi-fi connection.

I think the owner let's the use of wi-fi for free. Last time I saw there was a security code now they didn't put it. Anyways, grabbing a byte won't kill a person and I don't think it is unethical. I hope our country will have a free public wi-fi for everybody.:(

What you are doing is out and out stealing, if you doing this without permission. This will cause you all sorts of trouble in the long run - including losing good neighbors. That, in and of itself, would be a good reason not to do this. Contact the company, make an arrangement with the neighbor for minimal fee contribution, and quit stealing!

Hi, hanagi. Using their bytes will never last forever. Sooner or later they will turn their signal off. I would not depend upon someone else signal. I would just buy an wifi signal that will pick up. And I will pay for Internet Connection in my home. Many people around here have their bytes secured. So that means I will be unable to gain access to a wifi signal from their port.

i am too.
yup, they can't really blame you for using it if they don't have a security code. it's not like you hacked into it or something. i remember when i was in my aunt's house last year, their wifi connection didn't have a security code so i can access it on my phone every time. then we went to my uncle' house in san diego and his connection has a code. my dad asked me why my phone wasn't in my hand all the time as it was when we were in the LA house, and i said 'cause i don't know what the code is.
