For many years I have enjoyed reading the entire Bible each year. Some days I read more and some days less but I try to read at least one chapter even on the busiest day. I do it not because I have to but I want to. It is a great way to start the day. Happy reading! Psalm 1:1-3 (New International Version) 1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

I almost quoted this exact Scripture in my response. :) Psalm 1:3 shows us that if we continually put God's Word into our minds, we will be like a strong tree with a constant supply of water. Great Scripture!

I do, because it keeps me in touch with the will of God for my life, and my life in the right perspective.

I will accept your challenge, buenavida. I typically pick a version and read through the Scriptures each year. Last year I accepted a challenge to read the Bible in 90 days and was able to accomplish that without a great deal of difficulty.

Well, now you have a full year, so there will be some time to meditate on the things you have read! I hope to start some discussions along the way, as we find some interesting scriptures that we can use in our everyday life. You can start your own discussions too if you wish, so let´s see what treasures we can find!!

Hi, Erroll There are some of us who are going to start from January 1st and read the whole Bible within a year. So why not join us - You find the discussion in my profile!! Actually I am listening to the Bible, as I will need new glasses to be able to read better, but it is possible to read shorter time even without glasses, so I might try that next year!! I will also have a pencil and notebook, to write down what I found of special interest.

I have a Bible with me. I do not read it every day, but I read it once in a while. My mother reads the Bible every morning and every evening. She feels it a pleasant thing to read the Bible though my mother is more than seventy years old and has to read it with a magnifying glass. Sometimes my mother tells us some stories from the Bible. I will read it more often when I am retired years later. Now I am too busy with my work leaving me not enough time for reading the Bible though I like it a lot. Enjoy your life.

Yes, I try to read the Bible every day. As a Christian, reading the Bible is like watering a tree. You start to dry up spiritually if you don't read the Bible. Reading at the start of every day is great, too, because you will have it to meditate on for the rest of the day. God bless you, too!

Joshua 1:8 (New International Version) 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Matthew 4:4 (New International Version) 4Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" These are two more Scriptures that show that God wants us to read his word every day. I'm glad to see that you also try to follow these directives. Happy Bible reading!

Reading the Bible daily is a Good thing. I cannot tell you how many times I have read the Bible all the way thru, and each time I still always get something out of it as well. It is a great way to learn of Gods plan in your life, and about the things in life that should matter to us the most. Personally I would be lost without my Bible and glad to see you find it a necessary thing to do as well.

Hi, Hindus have a different scripture. It is called Gita. I won't claim that I read it daily. But I sincerely want to. I love this book so much that I sometimes put it under my pillow before going to sleep. For the past couple of years I've been transformed into a completely different personality and I owe it to Gita. It changed my entire life. I love this book more than anything else. This is my best friend. I know that reading it everyday is not as important as implementing its lessons in my everyday life. I know I should focus more on living a life as dictated by my scriptures. Rigorous religious discipline sounds very much mechanical to me. Thanks. God bless you

Yes I do...:D But I don't do it for the sake of religion but for establishing a relationship with God. I want to know Him more and I want to be a vessel to spread His words to other people.:D

Hi! I'm happy to know that you also enjoy reading Psalm 1. A very favorite Psalm of mine is Psalm 119, where almost every verse has a point dealing with the wonders of God's word. Psalm 119:97 (New International Version) 97 Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. Happy bible reading!
