So if I live on coffee and chillies will I lose weight?

As the new slimming drug Capsiplex is getting so popular all over the world and it contains all natural ingredients (namely just chilli and caffeine) does this mean that eating chilli swilled down with strong black coffee will have the same effect ?

my dear oldchem...
from the daily sight of those people around me who are on a high chilli diet everyday (they really like spicy foods, check this out: http://rasamalaysia.com/sambal-belacan/ ,and those recipes are being quite conservative on the amounts of chillies used! )...they have their coffee during those meals too..
and it sure doesn't seem to be having any slimming effect on most of them..in fact, it's quite the opposite!

and that is still conservatively hot... if Rich pops by here, he might share how the Thai's like it even more spicier & hotter over there. until today, i am still so amazed at how their tummies & tongues can tolerate all that hot & spicy dishes

yeah...too much chillies can really cause a memorable internal combustion in our tummies
you'd be sitting on the throne for hours on end!

I think it would be easier to go on a water diet. Certainly cheaper! You can have it hot in the morning, eat it (ice) for lunch, and have it cold at night. I think you could loose weight on an all water diet!!!!!

Well, don't forget to add the minerals and vitamins. For a special treat you can add a little no calorie flavoring to it....

Hi Oldchem, CVan understand the caffeine giving enregy sotherefore allowing weightloss as more active in a tablet form as I myself have my own nutritional products that I sell which also helppeople with weight loss, oneof our products contains raw gurana which is a natural caffeine which helps with energy levels and mental alertness. Eating chilies may have the deesired affect but as Mario and Richnai saif you would be on your throne Queen Chem lol. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hmm, maybe, but I would never try it because it really does not sound like a very healthy way to loose weight!

Oh no! Please don't do this, this is such a bad idea, I'm sorry but these pills are often just a fake promotional business thing and definitely not in the interests of the person who wants to lose weight, and definitely not their health. Eating chillies and drinking caffeine is definitely a no no, yes, ok, it might work and help you lose lots of pounds, of course, because it doesn't contain any fat, sugar, or many calories, but you would be losing weight the wrong and dangerous way, as your body would simply just be breaking down due to malnutrition. The best way to lose weight is to eat as healthily as you can and in small portions, eat slower than you usually do and do moderate regular exercise, it doesn't have to be vigourous exercise, just brisk walking 15 minutes a day, some good weight training, and good stretches will all help. Always lose wight the healthy way, because when you've lost all that weight, you want to stay that way and also be around to enjoy that wonderful body! :)

I don't think it's as straight forward as that. I have a friend who eats lots of chili and drinks coffee by the gallon and she is a large lady.

Hiya chem,
Well what a combination I would not even try this myself. I would much rather trust trying to eat sensibly and drink more water with nothing in it. Apples with the peel on do wonders too at least for me. Usually I don´t take anything like that. I know you´re only mentioning it but I wonder who does take it and what was their reaction to it. Did they get a colic attack, did it make speed them up inside I just wonder what it really does however does not sound like my cup of tea at all (grin). I try to eat more slowly too and eat more salad without much oil or anything on it and just look at the Coca Cola but give it to everyone else instead (grin).
That does not mean to say I don´t go on the odd binge say like the chocolate biscuits and things I´m only like everyone else. Actually I would prefer chocolate to that chilli stuff but I do use ordinary green and red peppers.
I would defy anyone to take a walk today also with the day outside it´s about 35 º centigrade already and going up. So today the chilli thing is out. Take care chem.
