My 6 year old daughter just learned how to ride her bike, we tried to teach her how to ride last summer but she just could not keep her balance and was too scared to even try, but when we took her out last week to teacher her to ride she pretty much just got on and went, and now she is riding like crazy. We also live on the corner of 2 very busy streets so she realy didn't have any place she could practice unless we took her to the park, church or school.
How old was your kid when they learned to ride?

My daughter was almost 8 years old before she learned to ride her bike without stabalisers. We have always had a huge garden for her to practise in, but just like your daughters she just didn't have the confidence to just try and go.
I think with things like this it is just a matter of waiting until your child feels ready and not try to push them into doing it, especially if your child does not like the idea of falling.

HI tinybop! I'm not yet a parent and I don't have a plan yet. I just take this discussion because I love bikes, too. I learned to ride one when I was still four and believe it or not, no one taught me how. I was just curious and I knew what I wanted that time - RIDE A BIKE. When I was in high school me and 2 of my classmates (BOYS) assembled a mountain bike by ourselves and we did it for 5 months. After our high school graduation, they let me took the bike as their gift and remembrance for me. Until now, I ride a bike when I want to relax. I love bikes! Always remind your child to take care because it is somehow dangerous. I had a bike accident and though injuries were just minor, I make my self extra careful! So keep on supporting your child's want! God bless you and your family!

Yeah we are big bike riders here, me and my husband used to ride our bikes every day after work, we lived near a trail that was so fun to ride, it was 22 miles round trip but after we had our daughter we took a break from riding and now that she is learning to ride we plan on taking some family bike rides together. We are always very careful on the bikes and all of us always wear our helmets.

My child is now almost seven years old, but until now my child can not ride a bike. I always wanted to teach my child to ride a bike but my kids do not always willing and always afraid. Actually I am very envious of the other children can already ride a bike while my child can not.
