I know this may seem like a silly question but there are people out there who couldn't give 2 hoots about the specila features...my hubby is one of them, he doesn't like looking at them but I do...I won't look at everything but I will take a look at the things that interest me. What about you? What do you prefer to do?

i do. especially when i love the movie. i like seeing scenes that didn't make it to the movie. i also love watching the bloopers. the best special features on dvd that i've seen would have to be the ones from clueless. i love it when dvds have a lot of special features. i learn more about the movie, and sometimes they can be really funny too.

It all depends on what kinds of special features there are. Some are more fun than others.

I agree some can be real boring but others are fun - especially the ones that have little games like the kids dvds..

Yep, I watch them most of the time if I have the time that is. Sometimes if it is late at night when we finish watching the movie, I think I will watch the special features the next day before the movie goes back, but then that never happens. If it is a film that we own, then we always end up watching them.

I love to watch the special featuees on a dvd. I will always watch the main selection first though. As an added treat, i watch the sdpecial features. I don't think everyone watches these features. Sometimes you will get to see something everyone else misses.

i watch special features if only the movie is that good. if it isnt i wouldnt waste my time watching something that doesnt interest me or help me understand how the movie was made or created. if its just members talking i personally would like hollywood to eliminate such talk from special features.

Not always, but sometimes, if the DVD was particularly interesting. When I got the season DVDs of the TV show Frasier, I watched all the special features, because it's one of my favourite shows.

I always like to see special features of fil DVDs.the special features like directors opinions, shooting stills, stunt making etc .they are very interesting to me. in case of titanic can we expect that all the sea and ship scenes are shooted in a single pool in a room ,that we can only know by watching special features.

I agree...it's always worth a look at the special features - especially if it's got a small documentary on the making of the movie, etc.

I generally watch all the extra features on a DVD unless I really hated the movie and then I tend not to bother. I like to watch the deleted scenes, alternate trailers and of course the outtakes if there are any but I also like watching the movie a second time with an audio commentrary so that I can understand what the director, actor and so on was trying to achieve in a certain scene.
As such if I want to buy a DVD and it doesn't have any special features I will often wait until the full version with features comes out.

It does depend on the film but quite often. One of the BEST ever special features is the audio commentary on Hot Fuzz by Kenneth Cranham, Timothy Dalton, Paul Freeman & Edward Woodward. Most of the time they don't bother talking about the film at all!

I'll agree with you there!! It's a great movie on it's own but the commentary is a ripper!

Honestly? No. I feel quite bad about it now, as I've never really given them much thought, have always just rubbished them as boring. But I suppose a lot of it is the actor/director talking about their work and if I'm going to enjoy the film I should at least think about what they have to say. I hate trailers though, like on video tapes you used to have to fast forward through them all to get to the movie, but now you obv don't need to do that.

I agree - it can be boring but sometimes there are really good things in the special features.

I do, especially if I liked the movie and I'm interested to see how they made it.

I always watch most of the special features if I liked the movie. I'm a film student, so I find what they have to say about making the movie pretty valuable.
I'm also a trailer fanatic, and I love watching any sneak peek trailers or the original theatrical trailer of the movie I'm watching if it's on the disc. Sometimes it's not on the disc and I feel really sad.
