My brother had bowel cancer. They cut out the bad bits, reconnected, thought we were there, then found out he has secondary cancer in the liver. Too bad to cut it out. He is on chemotherapy (the father of) they told him. But so far, he is on the second dose and it hasn't affected him, he is doing well. We have been told it is terminal and his blood count was right down. Then we heard of a friend who's mother had been taking pureed asparagus morning and night and she was taking the treatment much better, had more energy and the cancer hadn't spread any, even though they expected it to. I thought it was all a load of rubbish, including my brother, but his wife insisted he try. He went to have his blood checked and they expected it to have gone down again but it had gone up! They asked him what he thought it was and all he could say was perhaps it was the asparagus. I have since looked on the net about it and it seems to have helped numerous people in their fight with cancer. I urge any cancer sufferers to check it out themselves. At the very worst, all you will be doing, is loading yourselves with vitamins etc.

In my family, we also experienced to lose a loved one because of cancer. It was diagnosed very late and the doctor said that kidney cancer is a silent killer because it usually manifest when it's on a later stage.I felt so sad about it because I do take herbal supplements but it was too late for my brother inlaw because his cancer already spread in his lungs. But on the lighter side, that situation has made us more aware of our health and eating habits.Until now, I still continue taking herbal supplements and I also encourage my sisters and their family to try it.Eventhough our bodies contain thousands of different types of enzymes, most foods we eat are processed and cooked, which leaves them without enzymes from fresh, raw food.I encourage not just those who have cancers to try herbal supplements especially those that provide our body with the balance they need. So, we need to take steps involving nutrition and lifestyle to help us stay healthy in an unhealthy world.Let us not forget that it is GOD's will for us to be in good health.

Silent killer? My brother and I are the only ones in my immediate family who have not yet been struck down by cancer. It has never been silent. The roar of this monster pierces our very souls, no matter how hard we try to block it out.

I've had cancer through my family. Mostly related to smoking and asbestos. I don't believe that cancer is a silent killer. It might surprise you that shock is what I consider to be a silent killer. When I got attacked by 3 dogs the doctor was more interested in mum because she got real unwell with shock and was in a worse condition than me. Shock can kill when not treated. I say its a silent killer because the person with shock isn't always the person directly impacted with illness or injury. I tried to help the doctor treat my mum before getting my leg stitched up. I kept on telling mum that I'm ok and it doesn't hurt etc etc. I was lying but that is not the point. Have you ever heard a doctor say that something is not that bad even though it is? They do this to minimise the risk of shock. Another form of shock is thermal shock. Say you are in a air conditioned room and go outside in the heat. This sudden change in temperature can cause shock. This is also the reason why when working in the sun and sweating alot to drink water at room temperature and not water with ice in it. Water with ice in it can decrease your body temperature too fast and hence there is a chance of going into thermal shock.
