What do you need to function in the morning?

I find that I can barely get going during the day, without my morning Pepsi and also without anything to eat. I might as well not even start if I did not have these things. In fact, the few times I have been unfortunate not to have them, it has been the longest morning ever. So how about you? What do you need to function in the morning?

Do some jogging after which I bathe and refresh myself with a
good traditional breakfast

A hot cup of millet porridge seasoned with tamarind juice. If am in my village, I would prefer to take it with my back in the morning sun using a calabash! After a mug of porridge, I will usually be very sharp mentally.

I cannot start the day without something good to eat. What I want always changes from day-to-day, but if I don't start out with something yummy then I'll be really cranky all day long. xD
I also really like to start the morning with a quick little stretch. I've been having issues with my vertebrae because one of the lumbar vertebrae slid to the right and started pinching on a nerve in my hip, but I've found that since going to the chiropractor to get it re-aligned if I do some light stretches then it helps the nerve in my hip and it doesn't hurt nearly as much. :) Sometimes when it starts hurting some light stretching takes the pain right away. So I try not to forget that in the morning otherwise I definitely regret it later on! xD

Yes, food is always great. Stretching is something that sounds like it really gets you moving as well. I tend to be a bit stiff when I get out of bed sometimes, as I can barely move and the Charley Horses in my leg can be a bother when I step wrong. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

This might sound weird but, what I need to start functioning is to sleep again for at least 5 minutes. I find it hard to get out of bed when I wake up and can't sleep again. Also a morning shower and breakfast will surely get my motors running.

That's not as odd as you would think. Its amazing how much five minutes can do. There have been times where I have been woken up five minutes or less than when my body is supposed to wake up. There is a difference between waking up at 6:25 and waking up at 6:30, let me tell you that. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Hi, megamatt. I will let a small bottle of Oceanspray Cranenergy get very cold in the freezer. I will drink this bit by bit. About half of the bottle gives me energy! This helps me start off the day right. It tastes so good and it is very healthy to drink.![](/Content/images/emotes/happy.gif)

Yes, breakfast is truly the most important meal of the day. It really gets you off on the right foot in many ways. Without it, I doubt my day would as fulfilling as it normally is. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

The first thing that I make when I wake up is to drink my coffe. This make me fresh and ready for a new day :).
