Yes, I think it has affected the world cup. I think the ball was a stupid one for FIFA as it is too light and in the higher altitude of South Africa was going to make things much more difficult for the teams. In the buildup goalkeepers were feeling that they would be the worst affected and goals will flow with the Jabulani. Unfortunately it was the strikers and free kick specialists who really struggled with keeping their shots on target. Most of the time the Jabulani was seen flying outside the stadium.
Cheers!

Seem like many are complaining about the ball. I find it rather strange that prior to a tournament of this scale, the organising committee would introduce something new (the ball) that will affect the show. Instead, they should let the players have a feel of the ball and get accustom to it. Say, maybe introduce the Jabulani one year before the tournament. Players would have no complain about not getting used to it.

I listened and read a lot of the comments from the players and managers about the Ball from before the World Cup and my opinion is that there may have been a small effect from the Jabulani but certainly not what we have heard. I put it down to people putting a missed shot or cross down to the ball and not a mis-hit from the player. Anyone who has watched this World Cup will know that there have been some spectacular goals.

Yes I think the jabulani ball affected the player's performance. Like Messi, torres, rooney, etc. Most of the players said that the ball will go high. I think messi wasn't able to score in the World cup because he's not used to the ball yet.
Anyway all players must get used to it because it's the ball for the new generation.

Yes I think that the Adidas Jabulani ball affected the World Cup because the shots were not precise and so the passing. After reaching 70 km/hour the ball gets an unpredictable trajectory. It is a bad decision from FIFA.
