When you suddenly hear someone calling out your name , how do you feel? When you know that voice who is calling you but you can't remember you then what do you do? When you see that particular person you can remember him but you know that you have just seen them somewhere? DO you recognize such friends? How does it feel when you see someone after a long time?

My real name is a very common name. Often in the malls, I heard someone calling my name but when I turned around to see who was calling , I didn't see a face of whom I recognize so I just ignore it. Unless the person approached me to address that I am the one he/she is calling then that is the time I will pay attention.
If I don't recognize him instantly,I'd ask for his/her name and ask where we met.In a polite manner, of course.
If I recognize him/her and we are old friends, definitely, i will feel excited and will probably invite her/him to have a cup of coffee while we are doing some catching up with each other's life.

That has happened to me so many times!!! If they really seem to know who I am I ask politely, I'm sorry What is your name again? I know I know you but your name has slipped my mind. When I have said that they usually say It's ok my name is .....
And sometimes you don't see that person again if you have no interaction with them on a regular basis. But it is a weird feeling. But I would like to know their name because during the conversation all I think about is what their name is and not about what we are talking about.

Hi, raviteja_ravi84. I am usually happy when I see them. I am also perplexed if I can't get their name right from my old remembrance. If I remember them and they have not noticed me, I will not say anything. But if we catch either others eyes, I will speak. I saw this guy in Walmart yesterday and I saw him looking at me. I could not get where I saw him from. And when I got back home, I realized that I used to date his twin brother in high school. I did not say anything to him because I just could not remember where I saw him from. It took me some time to remember him.

I'd be embarrassed if an old friend calls me, and still remembers my name, and I've already forgotten his. LoL. I'd feel bad, honestly. And guilty. Anyway I may be bad with names, but I'm good at recognizing faces. I usually remember old friends' faces and certain memories with them but not the names. I'm just that bad at it.

Oh, that's the question! Look, it depends, sometimes when I see an old friend, I'm shocked how much the mentioned person has changed, my smile lifts to the ears, and then it comes hugs... I'm really surprised in such situations. In other cases, I can't recognize them, they remember me, I can't! That's awful.. How do I feel? I feel foolishly. I'm glad that in the most cases, we recognize each other and that's really happy moments.

I remember such an incident. when we were out of school and then we joined college...there we people who joined science, arts, commerce etc. Som of them even joined different college and some left the town. But after six years one of the friend organised a re union, he managed thj get the contacts of most of the people and invited most of them.We were shocked to see some of them. the shapes of mant had been changed. Some of them had a beard, som a moustache and some had put on so much weight....we could not recognise....but we were happy to see tham after so many years.

When I meet someone who are long time that I did not meet, at 1st, if I manage to recognize her/him then I will call her/his name. Otherwise I will just acknowledge her/him. I will be very happy to meet someone that I knew very well.

Actually at my age I usually recognize people's face but I can't seem to put a name to it. However like you said when you see someone you know but can't remember, I normally say "hi, I know you from somewhere but pardon me I forgot your name..." ha ha ha that's the only way you will know his or her name. Embarrassing but normal for a person of my age.

Of course the initial reaction is shock and surprise specially when that person change so much and the normal reaction is hug her instantly and says hello and talk a little how they've been and how they've gone for so long.

Like the memory flashing in my mind, feeling happy, pleasant surprised and may be another feeling if I have a special story with him or her. But generally I am feeling happy when that is happening. And you know, especially after that we talk about the old time story. Is so happy...
